Hey Ken, there is nothing wrong with that Stove. It's the Butane it doesn't work very well in cold temperatures.

YuP! Just like propane, being used makes it cold. Using it in cold temps will sometimes shut off flow of gas to even use! :) Science is great aye? Lol

I know you give the disclaimer but I feel you set a bad example with the gas tanks. Carbon Monoxide is dangerous and no matter how short of a time you run it you're taking a big risk! I've heard of someone (who was in my local area at the time) who came to Canada and although he had been warned used those tanks to heat a place without much ventalation and died. I was also slightly concerned that your stove could get knocked or the flame brush up against something causing it to come alight. Real men probably would've been creative such as trying to eat as much meat and sauce as they could from the dish or even eat (gasp) crunchy noodles! You could've at least removed the hang tag from the camping stove warning about the dangers!

There is a carbon monoxide warning on that stove and you’re using it in what is basically a small closet. I know you mentioned that it shouldn't be used in an enclosed space, but that was less than 5 seconds out of your lengthy video. If someone doesn't hear your warning and then follows your general advice they could kill themselves. This is somewhat dangerous material. You need more obvious disclaimers. For example white text along the bottom during the entire video portion wherein you're ignoring the safety warnings.

No different than Mav. He uses his just about every trip in the truck as well. It's called "crack a window". These campers shouldn't have to place "Warnings" on their videos. If people are to ignorant to use common sense or read the warnings themselves then they shouldn't even be out in public and even attempt to camp. They stick to RVs with electric hookups and use their microwave.

Do not cook food with propane in a close space....you can die...
@sethborne
@sethborne 2 жыл бұрын
@@ShilohAcres2221 cracking a window doesn't make using it okay. Carbon monoxide is much heavier than oxygen. A cracked windows on a still night would do nothing to clear the air at the height he would be breathing. It's very dangerous yhe warnings are there for a reason. The only way this would be safe would be with the windows and or doors completely open. Carbon monoxide also bonds to hemoglobin more readily than O². Even a moderate level of exposure over time can cause issues.

Butane is not good for cold weather camping. It's boiling point (the point at which it changes from a liquid to a usable gas) is 30.8 degrees farenheit, or about -1c. The law of thermodynamics means that as the pressure decreases in the can, the temperature will go down.

Congrats Rusty!! Ken, butane is notorious for failing in cold weather. I reasearched several camping stoves during the pandemic... according to several youtubers, your best bet for a cold weather camping stove would be the Coleman425 that runs on NAPHTA FUEL, or the Coleman DUAL FUEL stove👍for winter camping. Apparently, they use those stoves in the Arctic🥶
