@@chitea6014 Respect begets respect. If she wants to be understood, she also must know how to understand. Even if she's, as you say, not mature mentally yet, her mom's request is really simple. Don't sing loudly from 3am to 12 noon since that's her sleep time. What is wrong about that? No one is asking her to stop singing or practicing. They are simply asking for a compromise to tone it down in the morning. If she really wants to practice in the morning, she can go to arcades. There's music booth in there. Even if she screams her brains out, no one would say anything. I'm trying to understand her wanting to pursue her career but the simple thing that your mom, who is feeding you, wants a good night (or morning since she gets home at 3am and sleeps until noon) sleep, and you can't do that one simple request and your reaction is to dump all the shampoos in the bathroom, scatter clothes, break furnitures, If I were the dad, I literally would've kicked her out of the house. AND I MEAN THAT LITERALLY. If you're not spending or sharing anything for the house yet, you don't have any rights to destroy or waste anything at your house. She should be head over heels thanking her parents for keeping her alive and even accompanying her to record labels studios. Rotten child is actually and understatement and very generous of her mother. Again, if I would ask you, if you were her, would it be hard if your mom asked you, "Please, Guk Chuu, don't sing in the morning. I want to sleep." Was it that hard?

I find it so stupid when people do things like yell at their kids and talk to them like they're not people, then when their kids learn this behavior and apply it to situations they're the ones who are brats. If you treat your child with no empathy, they will learn to have no empathy, and won't consider how someone might feel if they do something to hurt them because they've never been shown that same treatment. You can apply this to any situation when teaching children- if you're doing it, they will do it. Blaming a kid for doing what you taught them is just stupid. Here's the thing: this is an issue of emotional abuse. From early on, the daughter was criticized (probably usually fairly!) but in a tone that both lacked compassion and heavily shamed her for things she was sensitive about. She doesn't want to eat with them, because mom heavily judged her appearance when eating. She sabotaged their things because when she spoke to them, they didn't seem to be taking her seriously (so she ramped up the "pay attention to me" response). She CALLED A TEEN COUNSELING LINE because things were getting so bad (GOOD CHOICE!), but even that got turned on her. She is legitimately good at singing--and mom says she's too ugly to make it. Mom literally told the entire room, three times, that the daughter "disappointed her". Of course the daughter is going to take that deeply, deeply personally. None of her responses are appropriate, but they are completely understandable from the point of being criticized to the degree that she has been. Mom refuses to take responsibility and CHANGE HER WORDS. You can criticize without being cruel. She's been cruel. Just because your point is valid doesn't mean you can be mean about it, and they've gone this many years with Mom unwilling to think about her words. "It worries me that you're spending so much time on this" is way, way better than "you're pathetic and wasting your life". This relationship is fucked up, and it started with the way mom talks to her.nDaughter's responses? Still absolutely inappropriate, but look at what was modeled to her: cruelty. They both need to learn healthier ways to express discontent without cruelty. Go to real counseling.

You're right. On another note, it pisses me off how everyone here is against the daughter and saying that she's fake crying. She has her reasons, though unjustified, they make sense given the way that she has been treated and from her perspective. Yeongja asked her what she has done for her mom, but actually most people don't have the capacity to go the extra mile for others, and that's understandable. Though it's a sad truth, it's the reality of things. It doesn't matter if it's for your mom, grandma, or anyone else. Most people can't even help themselves properly, how can you expect them to help others? What Yeongja said was literally unnecessarily harsh, it would've been better as a suggestion rather than a confrontation. The other male host saved it though, good on him. Every comment that I've read above this one have all been shitting on the daughter exclusively, it's so much, makes you want to never look at the comments again.

She literally had to call a helpline to deal with her stress. Y'all are just insensitive to be saying all that about a teenager from a 23 minutes clip, and that's way more DISGUSTING than her behaviour. Y'all think cyber bullying is okay? Haven't finished the video yet, but so far I actually do relate to her about her mom's harsh comments. It does suck when you're working hard toward your dream and your mom is constantly saying things that bring you down. It can make you just want to shut out that person, ignore them and their wishes. But I lived in a very complicated, long-time toxic environment and dysfunctional family with everyone weighed down by their own baggage that affected everyone else. I don't know what their home life is like, but it doesn't really seem like that's the case. I usually tried to stay quiet and kept in my room to avoid my mom and her issues. Edit 30 seconds later: okay, the throwing her mom's stuff around while she was gone is messed up. That's a total lakc of respect and immaturity. Acting out like a little kid getting petty revenge isn't the answer. Same with the grandma, that's not okay, and is rather scary to be screwing (or unscrewing, as the case may be) with furniture like that. I understand trying to make a point, but you're making the wrong ones! I can also relate to the sister story! Mine has done things that I've gotten angry with her about and yelled at her, then my mom would come in yelling at me. Usually I just bit my tongue about things, but eventually everything explodes. The comments keep calling her selfish and spoiled and yes, maybe she is, but they don't seem to know how difficult it is living in an environment that is stifling, constantly belittling, and harsh. Not everyone handles things the same way, not everyone is capable of doing so. I totally can see how cutting off from your family like this is seen as selfish and spoiled, but it seems like a coping or survival mechanism. They're both at fault here. I think this is still an issue/concern because they might have come to an understanding now, but in my experience, something like this usually isn't resolved in one sitting. Things might be great for awhile, but then people fall back into their old habits and routines. It usually takes ongoing counseling, talks, communication, whatever to stay on the same page and break the cycle. I hope that isn't the case here.

I think there's more to the story that they didn't get into. They said she stopped eating with the family after elementary school, which is like, age 11/12 based on the Korean school system I think. That's a very big deal. She must have felt isolated from her family and thus isolated herself to protect herself. She ended up becoming very selfish, probably in order to reward herself for what she felt like she was missing and deserved. The fact that the dad did not appear and apparently has said he's given up on it, is very telling. I think that there is a problem with how her parents have been looking at it for a while, which produced this situation. Now she is an adult, so she is responsible for her own actions. She needs to stop blaming her family because the bad things she does are her own doing and her own responsibility. But I think it is unfair to assume she just happened to end up this way. That does not just happen. That comes from upbringing. Both her and her mom seem to be butting heads the most. Both of them need to be more understanding and stop taking offense. If they are always offended at each other, they will always find reason to be angry. I think the daughter, since she is younger, needs tor really look at herself and decide to overcome this situation. She has to decide once and for all not to be part of the cycle. You can’t help other people’s actions but you can help your own. I say this because she has not left home/ started her own life yet, so she has to work on this for her own sake. I felt sorry for her and their family for letting it get to this point. There is definitely more to the mother’s actions as well. I’m not sure why she is always belittling her daughter. She is the parent first, so the buck starts with her. The daughter didn’t create the hostile environment because she didn’t bring herself into the world. I think the mom is very stressed due to work and her health. I really wish the dad had been part of this conversation because I think this is a deep family issue that is probably very much rooted in the parents’ relationship and situation.

Also, I find it interesting that most of the comments section is people saying they have no understanding for/are unsympathetic to the daughter. Therein lies the bigger problem, and probably the root of the matter, I think.

Her actions do not make her likeable at all, but I think this is family issue that has to dealt with by changes from both sides, and not her own problem. It will benefit her greatly if she can see that she is resenting her family and find a way out of this mentality. But she is far, far away from irredeemable.

I'm surprised she said out loud that she pulled her sister's hair and then expected everyone to side with her when she went on from there about her family being against that

Guys she doesn't deserve all those hate comments..its so hurtful if she read those comments. Its may even cause trauma or deep depression
@ruhilsyafinaz15403 жыл бұрын
It's not because of the mother's comments towards her but it's her behavior and the way she thinks is the problem. She doesn't admit that it's really her fault. I'm not a good daughter but what she's doing is just wow, idk what to say

Many people in the comments are claiming that her tears are 'fake' and that she's 'acting like a victim'. Am I the only one who believes she has a mental disorder of some sort, and that she's not faking ANY of her tears? Although ruining her grandmother's chair is going a bit far, I believe that the girl is not the person to blame for everything; the mother's rude way of speaking bothered me much more. Her family should consider her feelings and should not make assumptions on everything being her fault. I feel like if the family is more respectful of her feelings, the girl wouldn't be so rebellious.

hmmm.. I don't know how to feel about this one. Yes, the daughter may be over the top with her attitude, control over her family, violent behaviour. However we should not quickly jump to conclusion that this one episode shows her families full upbringings. She my have previously been abused (physically, mentally, emotionally) or have severe trust issues by her family which can answer why she believes that her family will only take her seriously if she turns to violence. I personally have a family which abused me to the point my father broke my skull, they never believe me when I tell them the truth, so sometimes even I turn to an extreme measure such as violence (mostly verbal) so that my parents actually understand how serious I am. Both the mother and daughter are great singers, I hope she keeps on trying to achieve her dream to become a singer because everyone deserves a second chance. if she never achieves it, I hope she tries to go on a different route such as producing / composing / song writing as a back up (just in case)

I know how the daughter feels when someone doesn't support your dream and when your parents and other guardians have a harsh way of talking/scolding BUT I can't understand destroying valuables and sending that harsh text. Good communication is really a key to a good relationship.
@momiji77895 жыл бұрын
Yeah that text was over the line. Also, I think they supported her though. Even took her to auditions. The mom was fully on her side because she had similar dreams. The mom probably eventually realised the daughter is not cut out for it, but the mom at least gave her a proper shot before reaching that conclusion. That's more than a lot of parents. I think the daughter isn't doing this for the right reasons anyway.

She’s the one that makes the home terrible. Not her family. She has no idea what it feels like to live in an dysfunctional home, this is coming from someone who has lived in a dysfunctional home.

If the daughter truly wanted to be understood then she shouldn’t speak harshly to her mom JUST because she spoke harshly to her no matter the circumstance. She should’ve kept quiet to let her finish and then tell her “what you said really hurt my feelings” that’s it. A mother is so loving to their children that they want to give them the world!

I understand how the daughter feels. My mum was also such a person like her mum. If one of your family says course language everysingle word saying to you or even not really course word but twisting stuff, I wouldn't be nice to her. No one deserve blame the daughter of you didn't experience that family.

Ok i get it.. she feel pressured because she doesn’t get a support by her family.. that’s why she behave badly and doesn’t want to talk to her family.. but life goes like that, not everything we want, we can get it easily.. you have to have strong mentality especially if you want to go to entertaiment industry because it was so hard, if you just played victim all the time, your dream will not even coming true.. i understand her situation for not getting support from family.. because from i was child i like to cook and bake, but my parent always prevent me to do that because they think that it’s too dangerous for me, my parent is overprotecting and i know it because they love me so much, but somehow it makes me annoyed.. i always want to go to cooking school but not getting their permission and i got in a normal university.. but i shows my passion to them for 10 years and finally they slowly support me.. like they tell me to sign up to cooking/baking class.. and i’m so happy.. that’s why this girl should be shows her family how much she loved singing, instead of force them to accept it.. And i’m so mad at her for treating her grandma like that!!! How can she do that to her own grandma.. it’s not like her grandma hit or abuse her, she just yelling to wake her up.. omg she so immature.. i can’t imagine if she had dad like me, sometimes my dad wake my brother up with wet towel in his face lol.. anyway i relieved that the grandma is ok..
