Making mistakes and getting embarrassed is all apart of language learning and you can see her mom is trying to avoid it. She could definitely make friends with the other moms
@JJ-yu6og6 жыл бұрын
not about the child being embarrassed. That's secondary. I don't like the mothers negative attitude. The mother probably has very low self-esteem and doesn't feel confident in herself to learn to speak English fluently, so she just avoids everything and expects her daughter to do it for her. That is very wrong. And that is the primary problem. Her mother has a bad attitude and the wrong attitude. It seems like she is using her daughter for her own needs. That is not why you have children. Children are not given to you to meet your needs. You are there to meet the children's needs.

Jojo Jo what you’re saying is 100% correct, I wish my mom can understand that. She would make me call companies for her during my 20 minutes lunch break in school and when I refuse, she’ll get all mad at me saying “you can’t do this small thing for me? Why the hell did I raise you when you can’t do a simple thing for your mom”

Maggie Zou god that phrase is so relatable ahaha i can literally hear it in my head. But the thing is asian culture is like that... you have a kid and expect them to look after you cos you looked after the kid for so long, if not why did they even have you? What use are you if you dont do it? Ahaha its weird but thats how asian culture is isnt it? Where as western culture are “ oh we must do everything for our kids to make sure they have a childhood and they musnt do any chores for free! They must be paid to wash their own dishes and vacuum the floor, and i don't care what job they get as long as theyre happy" ahaha its literally just cultural difference. So with your mum and you (like me with mine) is like the cultural difference of your mother and the olden days and the environment that you and i are raised in- the more modern and western way if you will.

Domino's corner hmm but you have met people who gets pocket money, and to earn the pocket money theyll have to do something right? Like behave well or whatever. There will be a little piggy bank for the kids to collect money? I remember my friends having it but not my asian friends who doesnt get their own money but instead will have to just ask their parents for money when they need it. Its not based on good behavior but instead on need. Maybe its just in the UK then? I know in my town, kids gets money for doing chores (cos they won't do it otherwise 😂😂)

This is a problem every immigrant child has. It might seem like a burden & be embarrassing to translate everything for your parents but once you grow up you understand that it’s more embarrassing for them. They leave everything behind to give us a better life so the least we can do is translate & help them practice that language
@ema82186 жыл бұрын
This is the sweetest thing ever. What u said rly touches my heart because most children do not think like this. Its so true that they sacrificed a lot for us, the cchildren, and translating isnt even a quarter of the amount of sacrifice they did
@leavemelonely12646 жыл бұрын
it’s not that she doesn’t want to help her mom, it’s the fact that her mom doesn’t accept trying to learn English. miseo is missing out on study time and even quality time with others to help her mother which is something someone her age needs in order to grow. if her mom tried to learn and interact with people in England instead of just saying that she can’t understand or they talk too much, she could learn a lot more and a lot easier than just putting everything on her daughter and getting angry if it isn’t how she wants it. minseo is still learning the language herself and having that added pressure makes her life really hard (not saying her moms life isn’t either) and she has to take the role of an adult as a child. she’s learning for two. she isn’t exactly energetic after 7 hours of school then she has to come home or even go out to help her mom. the excuse that her mom is too tired to learn doesn’t work. ofc it’s hard but she has to try and people overlook that saying it’s the child’s duty. no child should raise their parent.
@tuchiqa86516 жыл бұрын
leave me lonely this situation isn’t something you’d understand unless your parents are immigrants and don’t speak the language. It is so much more difficult to learn a language at her moms age compared to the daughter. The mom doesn’t have much interaction with people who do speak English which adds to the difficulty of learning it. Of course the mom can study and that’ll help her learn the language but it still won’t help her actually speak it. If her mom didn’t work all day and was a stay at home mom she would have that opportunity to make friends and go out to practice her English. The only way to learn how to speak a language is through practicing it. Also I’m sure that the amount of help the daughter gives her mom is similar to how much all of us immigrant kids gave our parents. It’s not a lot. Just basic stuff. Of course it’s an extra burden for us because it’s embarrassing but we have to think of our parents. They are 30+ years old and have to rely on their kids to communicate with others, of course they will feel ashamed. I’m sure her mom tries but it is harder for her because of the situation she is in. I’m not saying her mom isn’t at fault because of course she has to put more effort into searching some way to immerse herself with English speakers. She does need to get more confident and learn to be comfortable with speaking broken English
@Chakura6 жыл бұрын
Not sure about that since I never considered it a burden just like something I have to do like the dishes. @anelsonsoftball116 жыл бұрын
I was sorta pissed to see the host so empathetic to the mother of the girl. The girl can’t spend her entire life translating for her mother, especially small phrases which aren’t that hard to learn. Besides, she isn’t even trying to learn either. She acknowledges that not speaking English has a lot of disadvantages, but does nothing to change it. The fact that her daughter had to translate the divorce papers is sad. Minseo is the one person who shouldn’t have anything to do with the divorce process. Very disappointing to watch this and not see any of the hosts try and understand where Minseo is coming from.
@pommefrite86936 жыл бұрын
I mean I was in a similar situation as the kid and I remember the paperwork especially being a big pain in the ass but still, compared to the other problems in the show this is almost a joke. Like yeah it's a "concern" in a relative way but you can't not compare with the rest. Even for a kid problem, next to the one who had to take care of her baby brothers everyday it's the biggest bourgeois problem ever.
@anelsonsoftball116 жыл бұрын
Pomme Frite I agree that the problem is totally ridiculous, definitely not big enough to be shown on a television show. I was/still am in a similar situation to the girl only when it comes to the part about the divorce between her parents. My siblings and I are constantly stuck in the middle of my parents’ rivalry, and it’s very stressful for all of us, especially me being the oldest. That is partly why I was so angry with this episode because I can’t imagine having to translate the divorce documents to one of my parents, just hearing about their court sessions is enough for me. To put a child in the midst of such a toxic relationship is sad and I could see that Minseo was somewhat effected by that. But I do understand what you are saying. When I first watched this video, I was so confused on why this little girl even wrote to the show in the first place about such a trivial matter. I still think the mother is in the wrong though.
@bombilations6 жыл бұрын
These are the kind of concerns that should be on this show. This show doesn't take any of the concerns seriously. Smaller problems like this are the ones that these comedians, celebrities and idols can actually help with, not the people with depression, addiction or abusive families that come on here and get unprofessional advice.
@moonstaff12346 жыл бұрын
What do you mean? They told the mother that she needs to learn English. It's not like in any point in the show they said the mom shouldn't learn english. They literally said multiple times to learn English and to at least make an effort and said the girl is more probably annoyed at the lack of effort if anything. They also said the girl probably has a reason why she wants her mother to learn, so they ask the girl what they reason is and let the girl say it's because she doesn't want to her mother to be embarrassed. I also don't understand what's wrong with defending the mom. The point of the show is to create mutual understanding. They just wanted to make sure the girl knows that her mom loves her and has her reasons, albeit the reasons are excuses, it clearly hasn't been easy on the mom either. The show isn't JUST about the issue, but it's also trying to help their relationship and helping their relationship involves helping them understands both sides of the story...
@anelsonsoftball116 жыл бұрын
moonstaff1234 The point is that they were tolerant of almost every single excuse that came out of that mom’s mouth. Furthermore, when the daughter would attempt to give her side of the story, and her explanation of why she is frustrated, the hosts would simply reply back with, “oh but she’s your mom and she’s sacrificed so much for you and you should be taking care of your grown ass mother!!” That’s stupid. They would sit there like idiots and nod their heads along with the Mother for each excuse she gave. Versus the daughter, where they just stared at her and then immediately brushed her opinion off like it was nothing. They didn’t handle the problem with any assertiveness. It was like they were all scared that if they told her that she was lazy as hell, that she would get up and beat them with a cane or something. Which is what I wanted to do to the mother the entire episode. P.s. I am aware that I was very harsh in this comment, but the more I think about this dumb episode the more pissed I get. Nothing personal, unless you are the mother- then it’s personal so square up hun

It’s very broken, but it works. My mother in law and I have been spending more time alone together, so we both try our best with the little English she knows and the Spanish I know. I’m signed up for classes, and I know I’ll learn faster now that I’m not embarrassed to use my broken Spanish. My only fear now is that his dad will expect me to try to speak Spanish with him more (he speaks English btw)... he is kind of pressuring and intimidating, so I’m only comfortable trying with my husband and the women in his family :\

I hate it how everyone sided on the mom saying that the mom has done so much for Minseo so Minseo has to help her mom on everything. I am an immigrant too, but I learnt the language of the country where I am at now (after migrating, as my English level is probably at minseo's mother level before that). First of all, Minseo didn't ask her mom to live in England and doesn't ask her to sacrifice so much for her. It is like treating Minseo like an investment instead of a human being. Secondly, she is just a child, she needs to have normal childhood where she can spend time with her friends and socialize like other kids. If she spend so much time helping her mom and her mom prohibit her from making friends (like she cannot invite her English friends for her birthday party), her social life would suffer in the future. And honestly, for a teenage girl, social life is everything. It is hard for her, a minority, raised up by single mom who I believe doesn't earn much and on top of that, her mom doesn't speak English. I am not saying it is not hard for the mom, but I believe it is harder for Minseo.

Minseo isnt being ungrateful towards her mom or even giving up on being her translator. It's just upsetting to not be able to live normally because you have to constantly be at your moms side. I mean, sure it's difficult to learn a different language, especially English, but they've been living in England for 4 years! Living directly in Koreatown is helpful but she's too dependent on the fact that since theres Koreans she doesnt need English as much. I agree with most people saying that this is a problem that most immigrant children have with their parents. I also understand that it’s difficult to learn a language at such an age in life but it is also unbelievable that she lives in another country and doesn’t try to learn the language to make her life easier if she plans on staying there long term. Her attitude about the “westerners” on the bus in their own country already shows that attitude. Although she lives in Koreatown, she needs to remember that she lives in another country. As much as your own children should help you, they can’t do everything for you. I’m not telling her to become fluent but if she learned more phrases and got a better position at her work, I’m sure daily conversations with native English speakers will help her improve her English through the years to come. My mom slowly improved her English that way at work. She started only with a handful of phrases. But in all, I appreciate the hard work that immigrants parents put in for their children. I truly do. I just wish they would help themselves, worry about themselves sometimes because it does break my heart when they’re having a hard time.

Although she is being obedient and helpful her mom should learn to be self-sufficient too and learn English. Starting out small and being consistent is better than not putting in any effort. She can't always depend on her daughter because eventually the daughter won't be around to help and relying on her daughter too much would make her lazy and give up on leaning English entirely. She could help her mom practice but the mom should also put in the work of learning it too.

not about the child being embarrassed.

The fact some people are defending her mother makes no sense to me. 1. The daughter’s grades are suffering. This mother is ruining her daughter’s future for her own selfishness 2. Her mother made her translate divorce papers. Can you begin to imagine how hard it must have been for her to translate her own parent’s divorce papers? 3. She won’t live with her mother forever. She won’t be able to translate for her mother forever. The mother needs to grow the fuck up and make an effort. 4. People are saying she “did so much for her daughter in Korea”. For one, she didn’t even live in Korea that long. And two, she’s her mother that’s what she’s meant to do 5. As a Brit, her 13 year old daughter will be doing GCSEs and Alevels soon and she won’t have the time nor patience to deal with her mother’s antics. She’ll need to study so she can go to a good uni for a good job and she can’t hold herself up if her mother sits on her shoulders. 6. She dressed the girl in hand-me-downs because of “pesticides”. Bullshit. I see nothing wrong with hand-me-downs, but don’t try and seem like a superhero for using them. 7. She works part-time. She probably spends less time at work then her daughter does at school. It’s “very difficult to do extra work after coming home”. Well, how do you think your daughter feels when she goes to school for seven hours, has to start studying for the biggest tests of her life in just a few short years and is also translating your shit for you? 8. People are saying “She’s her mother! She should translate for her! Her mother takes care of her and gave birth to her! It’s like if someone gave you one-million dollars you’d be grateful, right? You’d help them out, right?” Sure. But if someone forced a million dollars into my hands and told me that I would have to help them around now and for as long as they needed when I never asked for it, I’d be pretty fucking pissed off. Nobody should have the right to dictate someone else’s life and that is exactly what this mother is doing to her daughter. I get rules and discipline and boundaries, but it is not this _child’s_ responsibility to be her mother’s caretaker.

You are very much correct. I am sure my comment didn't seem very understanding, but it really isn't fair of mom to depend so much on her child. English is a hard language to learn, true, but mom could practice with one of her English-Korean coworkers. She can try to shop in 1 store a day/week and try to make simple conversation. Idk why she seemed so annoyed that her daughter practices English 7 hours a day at school; she can do the same at work! It isn't her kid's responsibility to do all of this for her mom. As for the airport situation, RULES AND REGULATIONS ARE ONLINE!! Mom easily could have checked them out online. Don't blame the child whenever she doesn't understand English. It is a common theme with immigrant kids but it isn't fair at all, no, if the parents don't try.

Tbh I really think if she just listened and talked to more people who speak English often...she would probably be good in English. You tend to pick up a few words when you listen carefully. The main problem is that she doesn't want to learn English. She is highly dependent on her daughter for translation. The child helping out her mother is fine but it can get exhausting if you keep doing that for every single thing. It's even worse that the kid had to translate divorce documents. I really think that the mom should start learning at least the very basics of english
@ReptilianTeaDrinker6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they always say that you can pick up a few things from hearing someone speak the language and having a conversation with them. Sometimes experience is better than just memorising. Though, I only know English fluently myself, I am trying to learn 3 different languages at once. Bad idea, but I am passionate about them. LOL
@miri49636 жыл бұрын
It really depends though. Like I speak 4 languages and learned English in school, that alone didn't make me fluent of course and neither did I communicate with Native speakers because how am I supposed to if they don't live here. So what I personally did is just watching and reading things in English that I'm interested in by that you got listening and reading comprehension. So even that can help you a lot, you don't necessarily have to communicate with others. There are so many ways to learn a language, you only have to really want it, which the mother obviously doesn't. But in contrary to that one of the other languages, I learned *only* through communication, no books whatsoever. And as I stopped using that language, it got lost and I had to keep talking to people again to get it back on the same level, which is not always easy because again, the people I'm surrounded by speak a different language. Conclusion of this all is, that woman should be happy to be even living in that country and having all those native speakers around her, where the circumstances are just optimal to learn the language perfectly. But unfortunately she is way too ignorant to realise what valuable situation she finds herself in and then there are others who wish to be in her position.

I don't think it's fair for Minseo to have to interpret for her mom all of the time. She should be able to do all of the social things she wants before she becomes an adult and regrets her childhood. Her mom should try harder to learn English if they're going to stay in England.

Her mum is being really selfish, in my opinion and also not at all considering how her child feels. My parents moved to this country from bangladesh when they were young, without a word of english or much money. Initially they relied on my eldest sibling to translate them but as they widened their world and worked with other english people they picked up the language and were able to do most things for themselves. Even if they still struggle with the language at times they still try their best and don't expect a translator especially as they have chosen to settle in this country and have their family here. Koreans would expect those living in their country to pick up korean and have language schools set up. They should live by their own standards when moving to another country. At the end of the day, it was heart-warming to see the mother wanting to make the huge step. I've had similar experience and I use to not like it, especially since I was a shy kid, but now that I am older, it isn't anything I'd think twice before doing anymore.

the word 외국인 can't really be translated to "foreigner". It just means people who come from outside of Korea. So they use it to call anybody who's not korean. It doesn't really mean that someone is foreign to a country. It's just a word for non-koreans.

As someone who lives in England, I can understand how judgemental the country’s people can be. Yeah, maybe London is pretty diverse and there are diverse cultures in some places in England, but not all places are like that. In this instance, the child is right, I’m around her age so I feel for her. As a foreigner you probably need to work 10 times harder than anyone else there. Her mother should also try to work 10 times as hard to learn English because her child won’t be there to help her. There will come a time she will have 1 or 2 life changing examinations that could either make or break her life.her mother must do her best to support here and learn English. If she really wants to live there, she must. If there was an English speaking woman living Korea who never learned Korean in 10 years of living there, it would be very looked down upon. People would say “but you live in Korea so why not learn Korean? It’s only polite” England may have its diverse cultures in some places (not that many places) but trust me, it is just as harsh as Korea is. England may not be homogeneous like Korea but If you move to an English speaking country it’s only natural to learn the language and make things easy on your family. I feel for her daughter honestly because I couldn’t imagine doing that she really needs to study. The best way to learn is to put yourself in a situation in which you won’t speak much Korean. Go out to other places in England that don’t have a high Korean population and try to speak English. If you don’t understand or make mistakes, that’s all part of the language learning experience 😅 don’t become discouraged by anything. in the end, England will accept people who at least try to speak the language; try and try and try and people will accept you and mentor you even if you can’t understand, it will eventually get to a point at which you will understand, that’s how all immigrants learn. There is no excuse. I understand how the mother feels, but I dislike how they are only looking at it from a korean’s POV because I know for a fact that if it were the other way around, they would dislike it too. They should side the child.

I don't usually cry often when I watch videos but this had me in tears by the end because it really hit home for me. My parents immigrated from China about thirty years ago and even to this day, they still struggle to speak English. I remember when I was a kid, I was annoyed and angry every time they asked me to translate for them. I had to help them ask questions, translate letters, and even help them with using technology. They made filling out documents so much harder than it should be. I remember when I had to fill out the fasfa for college, it would take hours or even days because they couldn't provide me the information I needed because they didn't even understand what the question was asking for. I was so frustrated at those times but I never took the time to understand it from their perspective. They moved to America to provide me with a better life and they sacrificed so much so I could live the life I'm living today. How could they have the time to learn English when they're working long hours and have to raise me and my brother? I never understood their struggles with speaking English and how hard it was for them because all I thought was "why can't they do it themselves?". I realize now that translating for them and helping them is the least I can do to repay all they had to go through to build a life here in America from literally nothing. And I know that a lot of the comments are saying that the mom could at least try to learn English but she's literally raising a kid on her own while working a job. Its not easy learning a new language, especially when theres other things to prioritize.

Minseo's 13 years old, she's got her entire education ahead of her, and with gcses and a-levels, it only gets tougher and you have less and less free time (and less patience). Her mum is a parent and she shouldn't be relying on her 13 year old daughter to order food or return items because she can't speak the language well. You have to make an effort if you want to fit into society, it's not hard to learn a few phrases that fit the situation you're in, and you'll gradually build up enough vocabulary and understanding that you can get by. Her mum doesn't seem like she even wants to try, and I think that's really unfair on Minseo. What exactly does her mum intend to do when Minseo goes to university and lives away from home? I know many people have this ingrained idea that you owe it to your parents to translate for them, but that should only go so far, they're grown adults and they need to be able to stand on their own two feet too. Going to a country with a different language, even if just for a holiday, and not making any effort to speak the native language is something I find quite rude. It's okay if you have an accent, it's okay if you get the grammar a bit mixed up, it's part of learning and you have to be ready to mess up a bit in order to get better.

Its not easy to learn a language let alone a foreign language. It's even harder for working parents to learn a new language because they don't have the time to learn versus their kids who go to school and mix with different people. I'd advice the mother to get a tutor to help her since her work is part-time and in the near future live in a mixed neighbourhood. It's nice to live in a Korean neighbourhood because if you have an issue everyone can relate. Stay in a neighbourhood that is diverse and with time you'll pick up words. The mom also needs to build up confidence. Don't be scared to speak the little english you know. It's from speaking the little you know that others will try to help you out. The mom needs to also realize that they aren't like every other Korean family in Koreatown. What works best for one may not work well for you and in the mean time find a Korean lawyer and keep studying english.

First of all, what is wrong with the English Court system to have A CHILD interpret for her parent's divorce?!!? Do you not have PROFESSIONAL court interpreters to do this in England?? (I am one btw, in the USA). And where was the interpreter when the judge and attorney were just talking to each other when the mother was falling asleep in court?! The same goes for the hospital? Where are your professional medical intepreters?? (I am also a medical interpreter). This is a RIGHT/LAW for all Limited English Proficiency individual (LEP) to understand their legal proceedings and medical treatment. Well, at least in the US it is. I am BEYOND appalled that they would have a minor interpret for her parents in any situation. Second, I completely understand both sides. I was born and raised in the US and i remember a time when i was embarrassed by my parents and their English speaking skills. I was embarrassed that I was Korean and I wished so much to be "normal" or "American" like my peers. My mother spoke better English than this mother because she had taken a few classes in community college but it was still very broken. I also thought she wasn't trying and she was just lazy. Minseo is at an age where everything her parents do is embarassing anyway but on top of that she's also figuring out her identity as an immigrant amongst her peers. My parents didn't have the time nor energy to properly learn English. They learned what they needed to know to run their grocery and cleaners but that was about it. It's really hard for immigrant parents. My parents left at 6 am and came back at 10 pm. However, despite their grueling schedule, my mom made absolutely certain that I learned proper Korean. Thanks to her, I am a professional Korean/English interpreter and i love my job. As time passed, i realized that my heritage and language was something to be proud of and that I didnt have to change it or hide it from my friends. That day will soon come for Minseo. I know many people that immigrated from Korea to the US around Minseo's age and cannot speak a lick of Korean anymore. I hope Minseo can stick to actively reading and studying both English and Korean so to not forget her roots. Being bilingual is an asset in this global age. She'll one day realize how much her mother loves her and won't be bothered by helping her mom out. Until that day, PLEASE DONT LET THE CHILD INTERPRET FOR HER PARENTS. LET HER BE A CHILD. Also: the proper use for Interpreter= speech Translator = text Ex: You interpret court proceedings. You translate a document. THEY ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

I've moved to the US when I was around 8 and I've been a translator and interpreter for them ever since and I will be 17 this year. My parents are from Bangladesh, and I currently live in a suburban town in Virginia. There are no Bangla interpreters onsite and the ones on phone often provide an unreliable translation that ends up confusing my parents more than helping them. Once, my mom had food poisoning and was throwing up and extremely weak, enough that she couldn't talk. I called the ambulance and went to the ER with her, filling out everything and telling the doctor what's wrong, because no one could provide translations. This was when I was 11 and my English was still only mediocre. My dad was at work and so were all my other relatives. I was just so scared and thought my mom was dying and I also had to comfort for three years younger brother. It was probably the scariest things that happened to me. I don't know where in the US you're from but I've never had such tools available for me. I had to provide translation in both medical and legal settings all the time.

However, eventually she got lessons and now doesn’t rely on me or any of my sisters, and it means she’s made a wider circle of friends and has found a career that suits her. The mum in this video definitely needs to learn English as she’s confining herself and stopping herself from truly flourishing in a new country!

My mum came from a neighbouring country that didn't speak English, so when settling down in Singapore she had a hard time whenever English is involved. However, I saw her trying her best to learn along with me as I grew up, my school textbooks became her textbooks too, although she didn't manage to get very fluent, but she can do daily converse, get around, solve some matters on her own in simple English. Sometimes she even initiates conversations in simple English with other people when she really had to ask them something or so. I feel like her mother should try and learn and not rely on Minseo all the time, one-day Minseo will have her own life (be it expanding her studies in other countries) or have her own family, she can't expect Minseo to be there for her 24/7 until the end of her life. She could take the dating an Englishman advice, be it she will learn the language from him or he can be the one to take over Minseo's duties.

A lot of people are mad that the mom isn’t learning English, but it’s hard for her to learn something totally different then your native language. It will *probably* be hard for you to learn Korean if you weren’t Korean. But then for like 4 years the mom should have learned some English. I understand that people are saying that she is lazy, but we don’t know what’s happening at home. I guess she is a little lazy, but she could also be a little depressed with the situation she is in. So I think we shouldn’t judge her too quick.

I understand that the mother is finding it hard to learn a completely new language due to stress about being in a foreign place, having gone through such a hard time and the heavy workload. But isn't it a polite thing to at-least try to learn the language. Specifically if you are going to be there permanently, then you must learn the language. Not only for the daughter but for her own self. The daughter is at a tender age of 13 where she needs to be able to depend on her mother and not vice-versa. It's also not about being an embarrassment to the daughter but for her to become independent. And instead of being embarrassed, the daughter should help her mother learn. Not sure if you'll remember but there was a mother who came to hello counselor recently, she couldn't complete her schooling due to financial situations. yet at the age of 40 something (cant remember the exact age) she now works during the day and attends a night school. its all about determination. Like it is always said, there is no age for learning. The mother needs to realise that making mistakes is completely okay, nobody is born perfect. That is how you learn. If given a little time and lots of support from her daughter I'm sure she'll master the language in no time. They can definitely start by conversing in english at home. Good luck mommy. Wishing all good things for this cute family.

Lol I’m from England and I absolutely LOVE Yeongja’s priorities in learning another language😂👏 Tbh I get where Minseo is coming from but it’s really nice how the mum understood and has a will to improve. 😁👏🎉👍I just hope Minseo still makes sure to remember her mother tongue lol coz I’m pretty sure there are loads of people who unfortunately have regrets

All I wanna say to the daughter: don't get tired to remind your mother that learning English is so crucial since you live in England and also help your mother to build her self confidence, be patience on her to change her mind. I know it's not easy, it's tiring, takes a lot of times and emotionally, but what to do, this situation pushes you to mature in your young age. As times goes by, if you doing this sincere, you will grow as a wise person..

I find it really entertaining that I live in the same area as her and when they said it feels like half of Korea's population is there it is not a lie... Majority of my friends end up being Korean just because there are so many😂 me and this girl have mutual friends it's quite funny😂

My mom is Haitian and she’s a single mother, it use to be really tough studying for school and trying to help her make a living in America. As I got older she realized that I wouldn’t be able to live both of our lives and she began to learn English. Thank you Mom 😘😊.
