While that is very true, I think the others made a good point about how they really tried their best to celebrate that incredible boss and they could really really be sad if she hates it... that's why they're disagreed so severely with her.

I totally get that, but her employees sacrificed their after-work time to prepare. Imagine how unappreciated they would've felt. Some of them might even resent her tbh. It would've been smarter to go along with it appreciatively, and then the following year claim she was travelling or had other plans. She definitely has the money to travel either within Korea (so many beautiful places) or abroad. Self-sacrifice is an important leadership quality, but so is having EQ at the appropriate times.

ESteem was established in 2003, and 5 years from then is 2008. In 2008, there was a stock market crash that heavily affected the financial aspects of various businesses internationally. The fact that she was able to pull through such a crisis and grow to become such a large and influential company is very admirable.

Honestly don't blame the employees tho. They were just being careful. Like she said, you can't appeal to emotions in business. Just because they like her as a boss doesn't mean that they were definitely going to get paid. But yeah, I can understand why she would be hurt. But that's just business I guess.

you also need to think of it from the employees' perspectives. to the CEO, they can sell their assets to pay their dues, but to the employees they might not even have any assets to sell to cover whatever living expenses they have.

I find her point totally valid. My tuition mates force me to give money for senior's farewells, ganesh puja,etc. My family ain't that well rich to give away money for enjoyment. Just because someone is working/studying at the same kevel as you doesn't mean they get to spend the same amount of money as you. My parents work too hard to give me a quality education.
