I choked on my tea when the husband said ''I don't love her anymore''. Damn! Did not expect him to say that so directly, but they should've asked him more about that instead of making a excuse for him like ''he is just saying that because he is angry'', I think if somebody says that so directly without consideration he or she really (kinda) feels that way on the inside. I like the fact that when couples come with relationship problems they try to fix it, but some stuff is more deepened than just communication. It's just very hard to know how somebody else thinks and feels.
@christabuki54596 жыл бұрын
I used to think like that too, but I’ve come to realise that they do stuff like that so that people wouldn’t start assuming the worst and hate on him, ‘cause it’s still national tv and when it’s Send out people will recognise him and they could harass him without thinking.

@Rizál Li People on the internet, especially in Korea, read the articles and assume from the pictures that he was the one treating her badly. That's why the show tries to be objective and not blame one side.

Well this is true that even if we love someone if they hurt us again and again.. We can say we don't love them anymore... We say it like abnormal.. Normally if we don't love someone our reaction is different.. But not when we love someone an dthen hate.. It isn't like we hate them..

About England girl and her mother, I can relate to it. My mother speaks fluent English but still has some problems with tenses but she’s an 8/10. My friends have mothers who can’t speak English and when the council gives them documents or they have an issue it’s always them that has to be the translator and it really stresses them out
@Maya-dw5jz6 жыл бұрын
I can relate to that. I was born and raised in England but my mum can speak English I'll say she's a 6/10 but when it's doctors and hospital appointments I will accompany with her and just explain things to her and translate what she has to say to the doctor. It is annoying and stressfuk

Can people please start to realise this is korea and we need to stop projecting western ideals on Koreans. It would be very nice for people to get doctors for depression and so forth but in a country that looks down on it, shows like this are the small piece of hope for many. Better this than nothing. On top of that, keep your idols away from here for five minutes because these people often are going through real problems. And lastly, it’s a pity Sayuri didn’t talk about her Korean learning experience for the first concern.
@whitneystne27066 жыл бұрын
James Heng exactly what I keep saying. People seem to forget their culture and values are different from others!
@pokran14496 жыл бұрын
I think Sayuri learned korean cause of having to speak it with her mom, besides, she also lived in korea and then 4/5 years ago she moved to England, so she probably already knew korean and just learned English, or she knew both since her father spoke English as well so maybe he video called her back then and talked in English, etc
@VasReds5 жыл бұрын
Sayuri’s Korean learning experience is too big to fit into the script. Probably the writers couldn’t do justice to it or Sayuri preferred not to discuss it vaguely on the show. This happens often on the show. I’ve noticed it when Kim Jongmin was on the show and he wasn’t allowed to open up about his childhood upbringing. Long story short his father was disloyal, abusive and a drunkard, Jongmin grew up with his granny.

Any couple encounters problems. It doesnt mean they should not have married. The whole point of marriage is to overcome those problems together and not give up even when you face such challenges. Remiding the two spouses what made them marry each other and also the woman stop drinking will make a great and good change in their relationship I believe.

i think that the first concern wasn't really a concern. im a first generation immigrant so i've done countless translations myself and it does get annoying sometimes but i have never thought of it as a concern. it's honestly harder on the person that can't speak the native language of the place that they immigrated to bc; 1) it's not convenient and 2) they get picked on for having an accent and just not being able to speak the language first generation immigrants have to remember that their parents could've lived a much more comfortable life in the country that they grew up in but they decided to sacrifice comfort most likely for their children. translating doesn't take much time, although it does get annoying it's the only thing that you have to do for your parents to make their lives easier. they pay for the rent, electricity, heat, water, gas, your phone, LITERALLY EVERYTHING and translating is the only thing they're asking from you (aside from chores and all that,,,,).
@exoticwaffle80126 жыл бұрын
When they talked about not actually learning English because of the subtitles during the first concern, you still need something to help you understand what they are saying, you can't really learn effectively without subtitles, you'd just be watching and guessing what is being said. This comes from personal experience btw, I first became good at English when I kept watching Disney Channel daily, with subtitles in my language. I think that at some your brain just links the info from the subtitles with what's being said, so don't take away the subtitles, they are helpful.
@anisatajy94455 жыл бұрын
Actually, I used to watch Disney programmes too but with Arabic subtitles soI never got better in English because of watching the show in English. Watching it in English didn't mean anything to me. I was addicted to Arabic subtitles, so my brain ignored every English word out there. A joke wasn't funny until it was funny in Arabic. Anyways, my grammar was great, thank God, but my speaking skills were awful until I forced myself into it. Luckily, my family always pushed me to speak in English and then it got so good that when I moved countries my peers got scared of me. Yes, they were! (I think I should mention that even Arabic is not my first language) I think it's all about confidence. You learn by saying everything wrong first but you HAVE to take a first step. She doesn't need to master it but should be enough that she can handle her grocery shopping at least!

The woman in the second problem is so annoying. She did the worst thing that can happen to a man: humiliate him by beating him in front of his children. And then she wonders why he doesn't spend time with her... --' I know most of people here are women and you'll probably take the wife's side, but in reality his wife is just a selfish b****.
@AmethystKaianna6 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't go as far as to call her selfish bitch but yeah she did wrong. You shouldn't beat anyone, whether kids are watching or not. I just don't agree with it as a woman. It's horrible and creates an unsafe environment. The husband had legitimate concerns and I like that they acknowledged that. It was a mine field of a concern honestly. So many problems.

I didn't think it was such a concern that they had to fly to Korea though tbh until I got to the bit about her translating her parents divorce hearing. Also Yeongja is right, you have to start somewhere.

In the first case they should try and study together. Like give the mother homework and make time each day like at dinner or before bed to try English. The daughter is doing alot. But the mother does seem to care so I think there might be a chance to change.

That marriage has no hope. He said he didn't love her anymore and he said it with no hesitation. When they were told to hold hands he just seem so disgusted... Both of them have serious problems, they should just get divorced...
