Yeah, I could, "resurrect" the day again 🕺💃 I guess, was going to nite clubs right up to age 58 (going on 61 now) but there, "came a time" (I thought it was, "comes a time" Neil Young = "no disco 📀 there!") when I had to, "hang up the 👟👟" bummer!! ps: KC and the 🌄 band were always, "right up there!!" Cheers 🎉

This came on the store speakers at Home Depot tonight while I was shopping. I was dead tired, my ass was dragging, but as soon as these vibes hit my ears, I noticed the load on my tired old body began to lift, and pretty soon I was steppin' lively and gettin' down to the beat. Thanks, KC!

Because KC and the Sunshine Band are Disco/Funk not rock roll: Disco/Funk never became popular enough or reached the same amount of international popularity as rock did for it to have its own Hal log fame. Disco died pretty early, came in 1978 and died 1979.

@Polish Hero Welecki I would say five number one songs, several others in the top 10, and over 100 million albums sold would constitute being pretty darn popular. Disco did not start out in 1978. It was more like 1974. It was not dead by 1979. It lasted a couple more years. John Lennon was a fan.

Yes!!! I've loved this song since I was a little girl in the 70s but hadn't seen the video til today. I love the vibe of black and white people hanging out and having fun and the realization that there is NO color, there is just human beings having a great time, making music and enjoying life together. How beautiful is that? And how amazing to think that racism was actually BETTER then than it is now. It's sad. But this is joyful and beautiful and I wish so much that people could learn from this and love one another.

That kind of lazy, out of touch statement is all over the comments sections of KZbin, You just aren't looking in the right places. The standards of musicianship have never been higher. As an older musician myself, some of the young players scare the c**p out of me.
@hardcorehouse
@hardcorehouse 4 жыл бұрын
What’s being said quite justifiably is that the level of musicianship for similar types of musics is way down, because it’s being done with computers largely by non-musicians who don’t know how to construct full musical thoughts. Nothing to do with actual musicians today, a separate category that may or may not be any better than back in the day.
@frankmarsh1159

@@hardcorehouse Computer music is NOT better than back in the day. Computers have no soul. They don't use dynamics or tempo variation. All the human characteristics that make music soulful are lacking in computer generated music.

What I miss about the old music vs what we have now: 1. Actual musicians who could play instruments; 2. The full sound of multiple instruments; 3. The joy of performing (so many singers and bands today seem "programmed" and lifeless). At the time, KC and the Sunshine Band's music was widely considered to be dreck. But it's aged very well and outlasted its critics.
