Nice video; I have one also. It's my best sounding receiver on AM. I suggest installing the K0EOO modifications listed in 1992 fall issues of Electric Radio Magazine. Also check for out-of-tolerance resistors and replace paper capacitors. I found a few tube socket connections that were never soldered; look for those too. An incredibly stable receiver for not having a single crystal or PLL inside.

I just picked one of these up (not working) and a Hammarlund HQ-170A (working) at the 2012 SCARC hamfest in Augusta, NJ on July 15. I found the two of them sitting on a tailgate at the fest. I cut my ham radio teeth back in the mid 70s in my high school's radio shack on a NC300. The HQ-170A I have been in awe of since I first laid eyes on one back in the late 60s as a kid. Got the 300 running and it sounds great! These two will go great with my Valiant.
