Good day mates, I'm always glad to see when you post a new video, and this week is no exception. Concerning your nautical terminology, I would like to share a story. Several years ago there were four Midshipmen that were attending the US Naval Academy, they were roommates the whole time. Every morning one of the Mids would go to his locker and grab a scrap piece of paper, read it and then put it away. He did this every day the entire time he was in school and even when he was in the fleet. They all served the Navy with distinguished careers and kept in touch. As it would happen to all good sailors this sailor sailed his final voyage into the great unknown and passed from this world to the next. After the funeral his remaining shipmates were extremely curious about what was on that scrap of paper, so the searched it and and when they unfolded the obscure scrap of paper, they only found three words: ... "PORT IS LEFT".... ;) Great video mates, cheers from Texas...

Haha, love this story Brian! I have always remembered because 'port' and 'left' are both four letters. 😂👍

Hey you Adelaidians, welcome to Queensland. You sure have picked the best on offer and some of the world's most challenging water courses, particularly for novices like yourselves. You think Lady Musgrave is beautiful, well there's more! The GBR can be quite treacherous and nerve-racking at the same time, even for the seasoned sailor.... not like myself ...but has the love of the blue water. (The Viking blood in me).. Only did Moreton Bay, the Whitsundays and outer reef system a few years ago and not with the great tech that's available today. KUDOS to you both, so brave, gutsy and your philosophy to "just do it". Blue water sailing is not for everyone and is a lot of hard work and planning. Any way great video work guys, love it. You two are very inspirational! You would really appreciate the tech, particularly for nav/chart work, echo sounding, knowing the main shipping channels to avoid, (AIS, for those who don't know, helps ID/plot/track different vessels on the water). John, ...brilliant fellow in fixing the AIS too. You have a keeper there Kristina! Hope you have a B&G system too, pricey but well worth it! The tech is worth it and helps with that "journey". Take it all in and be safe, God speed.

Goodmorning guys & great to see another 'honest' video where you say it as it is. Lovely spot where you were & glad you made it safely. Your video's are certainly entertaining & wow a $400 shop is something else & no chocolate in sight! You guys seem to have done very well for 1st time sailors & John seems in his element as are you Kristina with such joy showing on your face as you reached Lady Musgrave Island. Enjoy your time & take plenty of fotos. Happy sailing as you head further north.

Just a tip. There's a headset device that both the helmsman and deckie can wear and communicate to one another leaving your hands free to steer and point, respectively, from either end of the boat. They take the stress out manoeuvring. They are not expensive, though I haven't seen them for sale in Oz. You might need to try Amazon if they interest you.

Helps to use a drone on follow me mode about 10m above mast height and onto tablet or chart overlay to see bommies. Depending on wind speed and boat speed you will have 20-30min fly time. Also available is a masthead camera that will do the same thing and no battery issue Raymarine Axiom w/ IP camera. Also for coms get headset for radios that are voice activated leaving hands free...

You should remove your paper labels from canned food! I've seen other sailing crews (SV Delos) have maggot and cockroach infestations from it, they remove the labels and the glue from cans and write with permanent marker on the top what it is and the use by date :)
