Great work as always guys, sailing tip.... Try "opening the leech" on your mainsail by reducing your boom vang load. Do the same for the Genoa by sliding the deck cars aft a couple of notches. Twist is your friend just like those flaps on a plane. Henry's leech twist is much better! Have a look at your footage.
@KristinasTravels2 жыл бұрын
Ohh interesting observation! I think we were on a different point of sail from Henry as we can point higher. From memory, I believe we were close hauled, hard on the wind 😊
@charliedeanbott2 жыл бұрын
@@KristinasTravels Reply from the author 😊🙂🤩🥰 Firstly and foremost, only some observations from the small amount of sailing footage. Just my 10 cents worth! You guys are doing great! Most certainly you were on a close hauled course and Henry was broad reaching however the principal remains the same. The twist of the leech on all points of sail will have a large affect in the feel of the helm (weather helm or leehelm). If the boat is tending to round up into the wind when a gust hits perhaps try a little more twist. Might even gain some boat speed as well 😉 Another technique is to shift the mainsail traveller car to windward and ease the mainsheet. This induces less downward pressure on the boom enabling more natural twist. Tell John to think all the back to the Wright bros and their twist wing and how it generated lift and efficiency along with the speed. How does the wing change shape as speed increases? His brain might explode so film it! 🤣

Goodmorning guys from Melbourne where at present its just 13C but going to make 23C so not as nice as where you are. I was amazed that there were so few vessels at Whitehaven beach as when we were there 4yrs back on boat out of Harvey Bay, there were heaps of boats, a seaplane & heaps of people but I suppose this is the result of COVID so enjoy your freedoms whilst you can & you both certainly look like you are having anabsolute ball. Kristina, you maay like to try Bushman fly & insect repellent as we found it to be the best to give you worry from annoying insect bites. You guys are certainly enjoying yourselves & getting better at sailing all the time. Will be interested in hearing your next plans & hope it will not be a return to everyday life as it was before. Take care & love your videos.

Being new to sailing a tip for you both when picking up or dropping a mooring line keep your arm out pointing at the line so the Captain can aim for it or avoid it. Same for the anchor if you ever get it hooked upas you are pulling in the line point towards where the anchor chain or line is going till it is vertical while the captain drives forward to get above the object that you looped around with the wind direction changing or are hooked on. Apart from that keep up the content as it is exploring Australia like I would but freedom to travel is not there yet.

@KristinasTravels2 жыл бұрын
Hey Guys! It’s just called ‘Anchor Alarm’ on the Apple App Store (not sure about android) we use this one.. apps.apple.com/au/app/anchor-alarm/id1428485893 But there are many to choose from. If you have two devices (leave one onboard and take the other with you) you can monitor your boat from land. We leave the iPad on board and take a phone with us, but you can also leave a phone onboard and take another phone with you :) hope this helps

@@KristinasTravels My experience has been, it will take a week or so before you can do away with the insect repellent. A mate put me onto this for fishing in the tropics, because the fish can smell insect repellent on a bait, so if you use repellent you may as well stay home. So we start taking it a week before we head off. Good luck with it Kristina.

Gift to Humanity 🎁Truth in plain sight! Leonardo DaVinci Paintings 🦁If you calculate this year 2022 minus the year the 1st Mona Lisa died 1542=480 years, the same amount of time from Exodus to the rebuild of the new temple in the bible.The 2nd Mona Lisa is the Bride of Christ, Queen of Heaven, Lioness of Judah- The Mona Lisa 2nd - 🦁the initials in her eye is her name initials 🦁the V & 5 sceneries are the 5 places the 2nd Lisa has lived in after marriage. 🦁The 12 pins firstly in a shape of a cup represents her surname 🦁secondly around her head in X-ray represents 12 stars just like in Revelation the woman with 12 stars signifying her holiness. 🦁The right hand over the left signifies she is the right hand of God. 🦁The number under the bridge 75 is the year son of God was born in human form & the year she was snatched away Revelation 12:5 🦁His other paintings link the Mona Lisa to them as well, the crab sketch represents her star sign Cancer. 🦁The ferret and lady represents what the 2nd Mona Lisa was called as a child. 🦁Portrait of a woman represents her eldest daughter. Her youngest daughter is painted as saint Anne(True Royal Bloodline) 🦁The last Supper shows a chalice cup is her surname. 🦁The twist in her fabric on her shoulder represents Gods humour & twist to the biblical story, savior is female this time. JESUS NEVER SAID HE’LL RETURN AS A MAN❤️”for if I tell U, U will surely kill me”🇦🇺Coming from Australia this year as the witness!🦁Gods the doorman for Australia. 7 letters to 7 churches are actually 7 nations.
