She is the author of some of my favorite movies, and I love her for those and the joy and delight they bring, even after repeated viewing. However, I am late to reading her books. Having just finished "Heartburn," my appreciation and affection for her are reinforced. In 2017, I find that two of the "public" people I miss greatly are Christopher Hitchens and Nora Ephron. I'm so grateful to have had their writing and their views as part of my life. I hope she knew how much loved her screenplays were and are.

she was one of those people who made the world feel safer...love the first two stages of inherited wealth "greed and sloth"...'it's the end of the year and I'm going to cook' - her contentment is a tear jerker...

The book is delightful, If a bit sad at the end. Nora was very ill then, and probably knew she had limited time. She was dead two years later. She never told anyone of her illness, which was diagnosed in 2006. She thought if people knew she was ill, it would hurt her career. She died in June of 2012. She was delightful.

Praising her book, "Crazy Salad," The Los Angeles Times said of Nora Ephron: "Stylish, opinionated, with a kind of take-no-prisoners fearlessness rooted in both the women's movement and the equally complex terrain of her own emotions." The New York Times Book Review said "Crazy Salad" is "As tart and refreshing as the first gin and tonic of summer." Last but not least the NY Times said: "A woman for all seasons, tender and tough in just the right proportions." I miss her. (Nora Ephron--1941-2012)

"I spent 4 months here (in Seattle), it was summertime, it was heaven." Shh, Nora, we want people to think there's a constant downpour and it's miserable year round.

Terrible interview! He's just having her repeat stories from her books; if you've read them, you've heard them. Ask her about stuff she HASN'T written about...
