P, you snapped with this one lol.. sports’ media and fandom is just a snapshot of the state of our country, politics has bled into all the other facets of life and now everything is an extreme (you’re either with me or against me). We’ve largely lost the ability to have nuanced conversations and level-headed discussions, and it’s sad. I started interacting with NBA and WNBA fans online this year and I’ve already stopped bc it wasn’t fun seeing the same sensational conversations with extremist takes about x player and y player, fans boycotting things bc their fav was left off TEAM USA, disrespecting past greats, etc. I’ve been watching basketball for most of my life (and played through high school) and it has literally been my greatest escape at times so I’d rather interact with people who also love the game in person or the select few podcasts I listen to… great video, I hope this reaches more people
