Big fan of the pod and channel, funny thing is I agree with most of what KD was saying anyway I think from my perspective I was just confused why he was so triggered by nuggets and Jokic fans and not the Steph or bron or Russ fans who have said all this shit for years in the past. Thank you for this perspective. I was a nerd in high school and didn't watch a lot of basketball. I started watching it in 2020, but I fell in love with the sport from NBA 2K3 and the 2k series. I'm grateful for the sport, the players, the announcers, highlights, and everything that it comes with. I'm grateful for having the opportunity to learn about the game from an idea started by Dr. James Naismith. The entitled ones ruin it for those who want to respect the game and learn from it.

Fandom has gotten too personal. We fell in love with the game because we genuinely enjoyed watching basketball. I really appreciate your perspective and insight on this topic. I think it’s really unfortunate that the landscape of NBA fandom has turned into such a negative place. It’s crucial that we, lovers of basketball, try to minimize this negative effect so that the youth doesn’t have these negative thoughts on the game. At the end of the day, they are what is most important to the growth of basketball.

It’s just crazy to me how people that don’t understand basketball, doesn’t realize the game plan that Serbia had created was feeding off the collapse of the defense and which led to their players stepping up knocking down their shots. THATS BASKETBALL bro 😂. They played a great game, one of the best games I’ve seen in my life and the talk is “oh y’all barely beat them” it so much damn if you do, damn if you don’t going on in the NBA Twitter community and it bugs me. Pushing agendas just to say “I told you so” enjoy the game!

P, you snapped with this one lol.. sports’ media and fandom is just a snapshot of the state of our country, politics has bled into all the other facets of life and now everything is an extreme (you’re either with me or against me). We’ve largely lost the ability to have nuanced conversations and level-headed discussions, and it’s sad. I started interacting with NBA and WNBA fans online this year and I’ve already stopped bc it wasn’t fun seeing the same sensational conversations with extremist takes about x player and y player, fans boycotting things bc their fav was left off TEAM USA, disrespecting past greats, etc. I’ve been watching basketball for most of my life (and played through high school) and it has literally been my greatest escape at times so I’d rather interact with people who also love the game in person or the select few podcasts I listen to… great video, I hope this reaches more people
@bradywright04085 ай бұрын
I honestly think this kind of online interaction is making me care less about the NBA, and I hate it. Between all the endless hot takes and everyone taking everything so personally like they’re on the team themselves, there’s almost no way to get away from it if you want to look at anything NBA-related online. I thought I was safe from it all when I started watching the WNBA a couple years ago, but now that’s just as bad, if not even worse. I think I’ve done a good job avoiding the stuff I don’t like, but it’s still so hard to avoid it all

I'm not surprised you made a video like this. I witness fans talking shit about you whenever you go on a rant. Even tho I don't agree all the time, alot of the time you be speaking facts. But people are so quick to dismiss without even acknowledging a point. Like me and a friend we would have lots of long convos. And most of the time we agreed, but when we didn't, we never got heated and started getting personal, we would hear each other out. And almost all the time we would end up changing our opinion or at the very least, sticking with our opinion, but understanding the argument being made. Understanding the point. A conversation isn't gonna be productive if you don't ever have any new insight to receive nor give.

When you said that bit about Tatum settling and all that too much at the end of the shot clock I agree 1000%. To me that’s not hate that’s a valid criticism but most people especially when it comes to him don’t do that they are legit haters and they start trying to cover it up with “he’s corny” or “he’s put in convos he doesn’t belong in”. They will even start the Jaylen Brown is better talks but won’t ever prop up Jaylen without bringing down Tatum and won’t ever call Jaylen anywhere near a top 10 player.

A player will get injured and someone feels like that they have to say “well I’m a ___ fan but I hope he’s ok”. Like are we really at the point where we can’t say anything nice about another team’s players anymore? Why do we have to tell everyone who we’re a fan of before we say anything?

I was at work, I couldn't watch the game but I heard it was close. I went to Twitter and the first thing I saw was people shitting on Jokic. You cannot act the victim when you start with something like that because you have every single advantage and then you want to get on the best player in the world who felt just short of beating you. Also yes it's true these guys are actively rooting against Noah lyles Who I personally was also upset with after his comments about world champions but it is a double standard.
