Via means road or path in Latin or Italian, just in case you are wondering. This song talks about going through all the ups and downs in life and then finally reaching a peaceful mindset that accepts it all and summons the courage to go forward. At least, that is what I have got out of it. Meanwhile, Hua Hua did mention at one point that "we can be ordinary, but we will never be mediocre." So even though in this song he sings about taking the ordinary path, to me he is still taking the different path and be an extraordinary person!

This is another mind blowing performance from Hua. He often shut himself since a child as you can see from his Fake Monk interview. As he got older he's getting darker from loneliness, and that's how he found out that he goes to a wrong path, hence self-struggling to rescue himself. Thus he got the emotion to perform Fake Monk. Remember he once said that instead of chasing happiness, he choose to pursue a state of not unhappy. That's the result of his self-struggle. The fact that he started to have this mindset since he was 18 is another mind blowing thing. Hence the emotion to perform Ordinary Path is born. This song lyric is positive, calming and the most critical point is giving hope. A hope of something better will be happen in the end. This lead him to a peaceful mind, to be himself. And he use that emotion to perform I Am What I Am.

Hua Chenyu is very talented composer, arranger and he is also a harmonies freak. He often records the background sound himself using different tone to enhance the song. There is a back of stage scene in the whole episode of Singer 2018 how he choose the background singer from all the co-worker back stage to be his choir 😂. He want Ordinary people to sing the harmonies to bring out the effects and message he wanted to deliver. Hua Hua said: we can be Ordinary, but we can't be mediocre. This episode is a week after Fake Monk which describe after being go through so much and struggles in life, I found my way of being ordinary, that's the way to save myself. He oftens want us to have our own scene and imagination after listening to his music. By the way, Katrina and Sabrina, If i never told you ladies before, it's much joy to go through all his performances with you all again! Like the other commenter, R Gray, pointed out. The chorus is pre-recorded. Hua often, and in this case too, invites fans to record the chorus. He looks for the voices of every day people, without professional training and techniques, to create the real crowd effect. And the audience does join in, too, loud and clear in many fan-cam videos.

I am a huge fan of huahua and love watching your reactions. His music is very inspiring and it always gets audience sing along. I have to say the songs he composed are at a whole other level!!! Especially the most recent pieces like , , etc. From my personal experience, I would probably take it slowly, because every each of his song tells a deep.story. it took me time to digest those stories and they bring my eyesight to a higher level each time. I perceive the world quite differently now. Hua s music takes you to mountains, skys, universe, and most magical scenes beyond imagination and always help you find peace and love. .. that s just how I feel I would love to see you react more of his work

I am very happy for your channel. I feel like I am reliving my Hua Chenyu journey thru you allover again. To say he is amazing is an understatement. I only wish that he knew how many fans he has all over the world. I wish I could go to his concert. (Good luck by the way, his Birds Nest concert sold out in two minutes - both nights, a 90K capacity stadium]. I wish he could have a concert in America. I wish he would perform at the Grammys. Since you are a writer, I would love to see you react to "Idiot" Its a metaphor of George Orwell's book 1984 , Hua ChenYu used some baroque style in the beginning of the song . really nice. He actually wrote a portion for his part in this performance to help the girl win contest.

It wasn't the audience singing, it was the backup vocalists that the show Singer always has but off camera ( the same as the part in "Nunchucks" when he raised the mic}. Notice how they put the lyrics for the "back voice" on the screen at the same time they show the audience applauding (but not singing). His fans do sing along in conjunction with mic'd singers at big concerts, and sometimes they also play harmonies that Hua has recorded earlier. This is a big TV show, and they wouldn't assume that an unrehearsed unmic'd audience would sing the backup vocals perfectly. I say his name the same way the Police do - "Every breath you take, I'll be Hua Chenyu"

Hua selected several people from the working group of the show and let these amateurs to sing the chorus and recorded it in the song program. So it's a mixture of a recorded soundtrack and live singing by back-up singers.

The insignificance of a character is one of the major themes in his works. Fighting back is also one of his themes. He rallies the crowd (the insignificant minor characters) to band together and fight against fate. As he once said, one can be ordinary, but one must reject mediocrity. He incorporated the woooo from his song Mayfly and the raising of his hands from another song of his named Salt of the Earth. Also, do you realise that he loves to use choruses (the parts where it sounds like a crowd singing)? It's a trademark, typically used in his songs that involve crowds in either a call-and-response manner or a rallying manner. Another trademark is him singing pure melody at the climax of this song. Through this particular trademark, fans once identified his song on someone else's album. (That lady was releasing snippets of her album as teasers and because she invited a lot of singers to write, she was asking people to guess who wrote what.)

He got thinner as the show went on due to the schedule and his rule of not eating before a performance. And then he also doesn't eat when he is absorbed in arranging the song. So that means he only eats like for half of the week. He got unhealthily skinny towards the end episodes. As you can observe, his peak roundness was during Superboy, then his weight just kept dropping, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019...he is less than 55kg despite being 173cm. This is why his looks changed so dramatically. Coupled with the fact that his face and aura feels very different with different hairstyles. This has resulted in him making running gags about HCY148 (parody on AKB48, a popular Jpop girl group). Each look gets a different name and personality and the fandom makes memes about it. He also controls his body and image very strictly so that it serves the genre and style of music he does. He sacrifices a lot for his musical products, to ensure the singer (himself) and the songs merge as one entity. Anyway, he now looks like he did back in high school, before he plumped up during university, probably due to the good food in Wuhan LOL.
