Okay, I can move and zoom out on one video, and that part works fine, but then when I try to move the second video, it crams it inside the video I zoomed out on... why?

Every time I have the time cursor, whatever it is called, over the composite and transform section it shrinks the video down... for no apparent reason, before I have even done anything to transform it.

I have an issue where I am trying to move the video to the right all the way, but selecting "align right" does nothing, and when I try to move it all the way over manually, it starts to disappear more and more the farther over it gets, and this disappearing starts happening before it reaches the edge of the video frame... why?

How would I make it look like there are two different people in the same room talking to each other? When It's really just me playing a different character? I want to be able to split the screen so I;m able to make it look like I'm having a conversation with myself.

One way to do this is to film 2 videos, you on the right, and you on the left. This must be filmed on a tripod, preferably with you not in the center of the screen but offset left and right. Then merge the clips putting "right guy" on V2, and the other on V1. Then apply a crop effect to V2, cropping the left side. Extra points if you can create a back and forth conversation. There are other ways to do this, demonstrated in videos on KZbin. Just search for "Kdenlive Split".

I set both clips to 1920x1080 and now they are for some reason BOTH small and in the lower right corner...

Yes, both Position and Zoom and the other favorite, Transform.

I've tried following this multiple times. I guess the current version UI has changed too much. These options are not there.

Don't know if you still need it a month later, but maybe it'll help someone else. Timeline> Add effect> Transform, Distort, perspective> Crop, Scale, Tilt. I did it just by playing with it. Also REALLY helps if you put what you want your smaller vid to be on top if doing picture in picture. Not sure how to do 4 at once, but I'm sure if you just repeat that with multiple tracts, you'll get somewhere. Hope for you all the best!! (Unfortunately, moving it is the hard part now. Oops. The program is great, but it takes so much trial and error when you're not keeping it simple.)
