There are very few years left for a great reboot “continuation”. All new families there and a mix of younger generation continuity would not do well. We lost Kevin Dobson last year. It could be explained that Mack passed away if they did a reboot. Even if Ted and William pass it could be the women as leads. But the time is NOW to. The show could bow out after a season if it gets low ratings, or go on for at least a few, before Michele, Donna, Joan and Ted either pass or are too old to do one. The latest would be I’ll guess circa 2025. That’s 4 years away. All the cast will be 80 and older then. Who knows if they will all be around? I doubt William Devane will be up for it by then. He’ll be around 85...

This is a strange thing to say but back in 2011 I used to live in an apartment complex on a dead end culdesac and everyone else in the building had their fair share of problems and drama but we we're all pretty close. We used to joke that it was like Knots Landing. Well, we've all since moved on and sadly never kept in touch and every so often I watch this scene and think of them.
@1233-h14 жыл бұрын
Yeah. That are times and themes in life like that. I remember "the old neighborhoods", the dramas, the different people and their problems(mine too) Many times I wonder what happened to some of those folks. With the internet I've been able to locate many of them-some dead, some alive, a few even close by where I live now. But I don't contact them for the reason below. The former places and times can't be replicated so the memories suffice. I loved this show too although it should NEVER be rebooted. It is a one of a kind classic that can't be replicated. Now why didn't someone understand that about Hawaii Five o or Little Women etc.?

You can see that Donna Mills shots were not filmed on the same day as those of the rest of the cast: Karen, Mack, Val and Gary were on the set on the same day and filmed their scene then Abby’s shots and reactions were edited in. Donna Mills didn’t have many scenes in the final 2 episodes although it was revealed she was behind the big plot of season 14 with Nick and the one with Paige and Greg. It works well anyway.

@@robertscott8344 I don’t know how they filmed it but it’s a common technique when actors are not available on the same day to film a scene. In this final scene, you never see Donna Mills in the same frame as the other actors. Shot/reverse shot is a film technique where one character is shown looking at another character (often off-screen), and then the other character is shown looking back at the first character (a reverse shot or countershot). Since the characters are shown facing in opposite directions, the viewer assumes that they are looking at each other.
