KDKA's sister station WBZ in Boston also had a very good promo campaign for their Evening Magazine which was sung by James Taylor, but have to say this one for KDKA is even better, extremely well done and so catchy!

Promo opens with rehearsal at a dance studio, then moves onto Three Rivers Stadium, where Pittsburgh people are singing and dancing along with the Chorus Line. LOVE THIS PROMO! What's even better is the song is composed by the same people that did the 1991-2006 theme music to the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather

Have you figured out the identity of the piano player at 0:18, who re-appears at 0:50? Is that Arthur Greenwald?

Mr Greenwald, would you be willing to tell us a little bit about what it was like working with Fred Rogers? Born in 1962 I imagine that my generation was the first to grow up with The Neighborhood. Looking back I feel as though I took him and his show for granted. He was always there when I was flipping the channel (no remote). I seldom watched it but it was nice just knowing he was always there.

Fantastic promo! I only saw parts of it during KDKA's 50th anniversary special, which aired in 1999. Thank you for putting this promo on your KZbin channel. Do you have any "KD and You" promos from the '80s?

Hi. I do have other KD&You promos but haven't yet transferred them to digital formats. Will get around to it later this summer.

Arthur Greenwald That was really cool! I love that promo because I love A Chorus Line. Was the main dancers all part of the news team ? I know the 2 Evening Magazine hosts were in the front.Great post! I love it!

Hi and thanks for the nice note. The dancers in the front were a mixture of Evening Magazine personalities (including Maggie Stewart, the Phantom Diner, Jimmy Roach & Steve Hanson, plus some of our producers and dancers supplied by choreographer Don Brockett. Everyone else had just attended a Pirates game at Three Rivers Stadium and stayed to be part of the promo.
