This is 2023 here and I just found this gem of a video...but....I refuse to believe its a High School production..seriously its right up there with the broadway one!! These students are amaaaaazing..I mean the acting, singing and dancing..OMG..just incredible. I hope they all get to work in the entertainment industry cause they sure are talented..special mention of course to the lead..just loved, loved, loved the whole production...the parents must be so damn proud!!!

They did the Broadway choreography!!! Very clever little tweaks to accommodate the young cast! The lead young man was wonderful. His movements always full out with such energy. The chorus sounded great all while moving and jumping in this wonderful dance. Is this what high school productions are today? Wow

This is not a typical high school production. I just compared this version of the number to the Broadway cast and I have to tell you that this version is JUST as effective. The young man who plays the lead is, I hope, getting ready to star in a production of DEAR EVAN HANSEN. The dancing throughout is totally tight, athletic, and charismatic. The choreographer wisely used some ideas from the original choreography and then added her/his own.

The difference between this high school and other high schools that performed this musical is that this group of performers believed beyond a shadow of a doubt that they were great, and other schools tried to be great. The energy that these performers gave to the audience was beyond measure, and the audience, in turn, gave it right back.

I've seen the movie numerous times and clips from the revivals on Broadway. A little of Bob Fosse's choreography is an much from the revival starring Daniel Radcliffe. It's easy to forget that these are high schools. And the young lady who has the solo by Miss Jones holds her own. These kids are incredible.

I was part of this production as the the chairman of the board, and our choreographer was phenomenal. SHS was such an amazing time for me. Im so happy that so many people loved the performance even years after it happened!
