1:18 I love how Yuri was devastated and Natsuki was comforting her, but afterwards she gave such a motivational speech and cheered everyone up 🥰 She is such a good leader, and they have such a good relationship!
Throughout the two seasons and the movie, I have gained an appreciation for both club presidents, Haruka and Yuuko. Being a good leader isn't easy, and its too easy to imagine them faltering in their role especially if you compare them to naturally charismatic characters like Asuka. However, I feel Haruka, and especially Yuuko have risen to the challenge splendidly. I feel the need to appreciate Yuuko more and more. Despite how she started off antagonistic to Reina and Kumiko, for reasons most understandable, the more time I spend with her, the more of her I find to praise. Aside from the fact she remains a competent musician and her hilarious comedic chemistry with Natsuki (another excellent character), she practices where she falls short until she succeeds, (see her baton twirling), she also delivered an excellent opening speech to the club (which is one of her finest moments given the history behind it), and she handled the loss incredibly gracefully. They say you don't know a person until you see them handle loss and the way Yuuko conducted herself through her grief was nothing short of admirable. It was nothing short of gratifying to see the original second years, Yuuko and Natsuki, Nozomi and Mizore finally get to play together in the ensemble, a chance to truly spread their wings after all that has happened in the past. Personally, I think Yuuko and Natsuki retired too soon. Now that the burden of competing in Nationals had been lifted, this was a chance to see an ensemble cast in a more relaxed setting (and more Yuuko-Natsuki shenanigans). Give Kumiko time to bond with the kouhais without the burden of responsibility. There will be plenty of chances in Season 3 when she's a third-year.
I feel like we didn’t get to see as much of Yuko as president as Haruka and now Kumiko, but seeing her give her band encouragement after crying her heart out showed how much she cared for it

2:57 Even though Yuuko said this, you know she'll never have a shot at Nationals herself again.

i Dont understand they won the gold medal, but didnt make it to the nationals tf

It's because winning the gold medal does not mean the band is going to nationals, it just means 5 or more judges thought the presentation was really good. They are supposed to rank them from A to C, and if 5 judges pick C, then it's a bronze medal. If 5 pick A, then it's a gold medal. That means that eassily ten bands could get gold medals, but still, only three of them qualify to the next competition.

To make it to the nationals first you have to win gold, then amongst the schools that have won gold only 3 of them will advance to the nationals
