A little Super8 film that showcases Kearney Missouri, my hometown. Not technically my home town but I've been here since I was 3 years old. Super8 is one of my favorite formats to shoot on and I've been toying with the idea of making a film reel that showcases a little bit of Kearney. A golden opportunity arrived when my friends came to me with a rather big announcement.
Kearney hasn't had a car show for a very long time so two of my friends, Tanner and Bethany created a new car show that was inclusive to all motor vehicles. I remember vividly sitting down at a table and seven of us coming up with the name and poster. Multiple names were thrown around until "Kearney Mo Motorshow" was said and that name stuck. A few weeks went by and the date was set for the first car show.
I decided to go ahead with the Kearney reel, making it have both Kearney and the new Motorshow. I started off with the Kearney portions, going out one evening after work and working my way from the post office all the way to the historic museum. After that, I waited a day to go out to the beautiful country where there is nothing but grassland and cornfields. Then it was onto the Motorshow, I've never been to a car show so I didn't really know what to film but I am very happy with what I was able to capture is less than 2 minutes.
I'm really happy with how the film turned out and I hope you all enjoy it!
With Love,
