It's natural for anyone to do that when having a conversation. It's called empathy, compassion, and understanding. Especially in this case, when Vlad happened to go through a similar situation--he too had his bike stolen as a child and cried just like Keefe said he did, why wouldn't he talk about that? It's called a shared experience. When I was 10 back in 1996 I got my favorite bike ever, my Mongoose Villain, stolen when I went into a gas station for just 3 minutes and I was devastated, and that's the first thing I thought of when Keefe was telling his story. If I were there having a conversation with Keefe, I'd have definitely confided in him that I'd had my bike stolen as a kid and it messed me up, too. So before you criticize Vlad for something as ridiculous as telling someone of a similar experience they had as a child, think to yourself about all the conversations you've had, and how natural it is to want share an experience you've had when the person you're talking to brings up an event or situation or whatever that you, too, have experienced or been in. It's only natural to say, "Oh yeah, I remember when that same shit happened to me when I was a kid." If you don't think that way or feel that way you're either not human or you're a sociopath who doesn't feel empathy or compassion or any sort of human connection when conversing with others.

Me too. That's why I don't blame Vlad for feeling a connection with Keefe D when he told this story. I immediately felt a connection, too. Because even though I didn't get jacked for my bike, I did get it stolen when I went into the Quik Trip for just 3 minutes to get a Cherry Icee. Back in 1996, I was just 10 years old, and it was my nice ass Mongoose Villain that I got for my 10th Birthday just a few months earlier. And this was way before Mongoose sold out to WalMart and started making pieces of shit. This was a badass bike and I was heartbroken when I walked out the gas station and my bike was gone. We called the cops but of course they didn't do shit. Luckily I had amazing parents who made pretty decent money at the time and knew how much I loved that bike. And even though they couldn't afford to replace it right away, they surprised me big time a few months later by getting me a brand new Mongoose Villain when my 11th Birthday rolled around.
