About Maggy’s unlocks: I think glyph of balance’s appearance might refer to Delta from Greek alphabet which is related to mathematics, basically meaning it’s a variable, which makes sense to me as the item balances out your pickups. Purity and holy crown most likely refer to going to heaven, with purity meaning innocence/virginity and holy crown meaning inheriting the kingdom of god or something. Yum heart, yuck heart and candy heart are probs there because Maggy is all about health and also because she is literally the person whose heart you have to fight in every run.

Oh and also about the relation of mom Maggy to biblical Magdalene - I think her name also references her fanaticism, as in the Bible Magdalene is a close follower of Jesus and in the game mom is clearly very devout. Also I think Edmund was either unaware of the misconception or was referencing it as Tainted Maggy is essentially the Lust boss as a playable character, lethal hugs being an abusive way of showing love kinda supports that idea imo.

I don’t agree with delta, it’s often use to represent change (I.e. delta X would be change in X) so I doubt it has to do with balance. Also the symbol is still fairly different

The Balance Glyph seems to be based on the Trinity, as it's three triangles that are all equally important in maintaining the balance of the shape. The first triangle is the outermost blue perimeter, the second triangle is the transparent area between the other two triangles, and the third triangle is the middle one

This is also written in the Wiki but I think it has to be mentioned Tainted Magdalene's fighting style is similar to Super Lust's, they both bump into their targets to deal damage and leave red creep / blood behind them If you really want to take it far I guess you could say T. Maggy gets a huge benefit from speed boosts like how fast S. Lust is and that the item Lust can drop (The Virus) can be very useful for her This might probably be a reference to the fact that Mary Magdalene is mistaken as a prostitute very often and if you keep that idea in mind, it can also explain some of the unlocks

I can't like this it's at 777, so have a comment for the algorithm to make up for it. Also I think you should look at Pentecostal imagery for the balance and holy crown thing? (I did a cursory fly-by once while wondering about some cool song lyrics describing a character as being "crowned in flame" and turns out that's Pentecostal holy imagery, but that's all I recall from that bunch.) Blue-white flames are common depiction for dead souls for some reason so the blue-white glow behind that holy crown made me think it might be a nod to pentecostal stuff.
