Big Cards fan and I love your content, Alex. The Tip Reiman pick tells me they are planning to run more multiple TE sets, which helps with running the ball (Connor + Benson are going to eat) and it may allow Trey McBride to move around the field. I think Tip will surprise with his physicality as a blocker and can move the chains as a big target that can drag some players along.

Tip is all about 12 and 13 personnel imho. I think the Cardinals were second only to Kansas City in 12 personnel plays last year. Tip was the strongest TE and he loves to block. This team is run first and that pick emphasized it.

4:19 For the role we needed at TE, Rieman was perfectly fine. We have receiving threats at TE in McBride and Higgins, we needed that guy to act as an extra lineman in 12 personnel for our run game. Rieman can certainly be that. Also think you're underselling our offensive line. Hernandez has been one of our top 2 best offensive linemen since he got here and Froholdt was fine at center last year. Left guard is still an issue, but there's gonna be competition between 3 guys for that job. Wilkinson, Brown, and Adams are all gonna fight for that job

It wasn’t the Tip pick that was bad, it was where it was and who else was available And yes I might’ve oversold the OL issues but the DL in the NFCW is insanely talented so I decided to make my stance VERY clear and have my concerns

I think Theo needs more credit as a blocker than you suggest, but I don’t endorse reaching for need when I could probably find other blocking TEs in free agency

@@HailMarySports we did have 11+ picks, very easy to address needs with some as well as get cheaper. Sure we could've resigned Jeff Swaim for whatever he wanted or we could draft and develop Rieman who is already a capable blocker and maybe he turns into an ok receiver behind McBride

think you missed the purpose of drafting Tip. he was the best block TE prospect and fits Drew's offense perfectly. plus, if you check out his athleticism scores per next Gen stats, you would know.. and it was not his fault for his low production numbers.. blame it on Illinois offense scheme and how they utilized TEs.

Newton said Cardinals met with him more than any other team. They passed on him twice. So they had a reason. Cardinals had a top 10 offense in the last 4 games with almost no roster by comparison to this. With a worse offensive line they had the 4th most yards rushing in the league. I got Cardinals going 9-8. I think people forget how close the talent levels are in the NFL when they analyze. That's why you get 2-8 teams beating 7-3 teams. A couple turnovers and it flips.
