THE CREW?! ARE YOU INSANE, MAX?! Way to go Jamie... Max seems like a really great guy, but this is madness and I'm happy to see you standing up to him. THE QUEST FOR EL DORADO?! MAX - WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO TO THESE PEOPLE?! I'll have to shield Dylann from seeing this video because if he sees 7 Wonders Duel on here he's going to lose it... although I kind of agree with the reasoning about BGA, it's so much better on there... but still, what if you go to a cabin with no internet access or something? Dominion is a tough one, I'm sorta glad I never bought it a long time ago when I was tempted, and I know Dylann culled his copy. Another one where the online implementation is better because it sets up the 10 market cards super quick and eliminates all shuffling and tear down time after the game. Plus, the base game on its own gets old after a while, but getting more expansions mean more shelf space since you can't fit them in the same box. Good call, Jeff - it's a great gift for a friend who's new to the hobby or doesn't have many games, but for people with big collections and other deck-builders, it's a great cull. Glad to see Charterstone leaving, I was eyeing it on the shelf since the start... wasn't a big fan of it, totally agree with Jeff that it was fun for a bit but ultimately I was pretty disappointed once the "oooooo what's next?" charm wore off. LOL @ Max using the lint roller in the background at the end. P.S. If you cull Res Arcana you're all dead to me. ;)

I will never ever cull res arcana! Lint rollers are essential in this house. We hand them out to everyone that walks in our door. Charterstone was one that just kinda got left on the shelf because we never knew what to do with it. Buy a recharge and sell it? Pass it off to someone in hopes they get a recharge? Toss it out? It just ended up sitting there for years unnoticed really haha

@@FostertheMeeple That's fair, same with mine and Dylann's shared copy of Charterstone. Just sitting there... Glad to hear you'll never cull Res Arcana. P.S. If you haven't tried the expansion yet (Lux et Tenebrae), I highly recommend it! Only adds one or two small rules (couple sentences worth) but a lot more variety and balances things out even further. So good. There's another expansion coming soon too but I don't know much about it yet.

I don't know. I find that getting into the culling of games regularly often gets you into dangerous territory of playing a game once or twice and deciding you like it then and there; leading to huge errors of judgement. Most of the fun games Ive come to love take more than a few plays to get into it. It reeks of consumerism, if you can only play a game a few times are you really getting into any of them? I do love Jeffs realism in knowing what he's going to get to the table. It took me many years to get to that stage. Though I also feel his pain.

With that, I am looking at a few, especially the earlier choices, that I'm thinking could go. The collector side of my brain doesn't want to do it.....such a dilemma.😋

I love the Crew! After playing some heavier game, when we are kinda tired but dont wanna go to sleep, then we play some rounds of the Crew. Also, because its an engaging version of trick taking, I can legit play with mom and dad. I legit looked for it in a store yesterday.

What is this "cull" you keep referring to? ;) But then, we still have games from our childhood (Monopoly, Life, and Scrabble for her, Nuclear War/Proliferation/Escalation for me) that I don't expect to play again. We just don't have any desire to get rid of them either. And we don't buy as many games as you seem to, largely because it is so much work to adapt a new game for blind players like my wife, so we try to be very selective in what new games we buy.

It’s very tough when producing content. Games are constantly coming in so we definitely need to be more mindful of finding new homes for some!

Yeah, that's a very different situation from mine. Producing game content drives you to acquire more games. But the effort required to adapt games drives us to be very selective in the games we buy.

Camel up is much more fun to me. I'm with Max on quest for El dorado, it's a fine game but nothing more. I would use Clank instead as an intro game

I've culled Wild Space just yesterday and I could maybe see me cull Dominion in the Future, but I don't think I own a better Deckbuilder, so it has to stay. I could NEVER cull 7 Wonder Duell. It's in my Top 10 of all time...

Eventually you’ll see some Vast MM coverage on the channel so you at least need to wait until then ;) Nah- it is one of my MOST anticipated games. One that I will likely hold on to regardless of how much I’d play, because like FTM said… it’s Ferrin / Leder. However, it is one that’s very daunting to table. So I don’t know when it’ll see the light of day for us.

I think it’s close enough. I think a lot of games could have that similar argument “is it really X mechanism?” Ultimately it’s all kind of moot at the end of the day.

@@FostertheMeeple Under most circumstances I totally agree, but in the context of "is X a better gateway" for a genre, I just don't think Camel Up shares enough in common with Downforce, Flamme Rouge, Jamaica, et al. I know it's a silly argument, and I love Camel Up, it's our go-to for larger get togethers, I just think it's a wagering game in a racing game skin.
