So glad you mentioned this last year in one of your videos. I just started last July in Backstage, and didn't track. Just started tracking 1/1/22, and already have 3 bookings out of 11 auditions, meaning I currently have a 27% booking rate....not too shabby! I'm still in the running for three productions so I didn't count those yet. This is only March, so can't wait to see how the rest of the year goes.

Great info. Question - beginning actors often apply for roles (Backstage for example) and then are contacted with a digital or in person audition request. Sometimes, applicants are also booked for a role without an audition, simply by applying. My question is - the difference between applying and auditioning? In instances such as I have described here, do you suggest a beginning actor operating in this fashion list all applied for roles, or only those which require an audition and of course those which are booked by application, without audition? Thank you

That's a really good question and I suppose it's up to the individual how specific they want to get with their tracking. You could definitely add a column that tracks direct bookings with no auditions. This year, I've decided to start tracking auditions that I've had to turn down for one reason or another. In the past, I was not logging those but I think it is also important info to keep track of.

You can create it yourself. Or if you are in a project that is on IMDb they will usually add you. However, you will not have a photo associated with your account unless you get IMDb PRO.

Hey Kurt, I have a question of a different sort.. My question is do you recommend printing your resume on the back of the headshot or just stapling it to the back?

Where I'm at most actors staple it to the back but I hear actors argue all the time about HOW to staple it to the back. It seems like it might make more sense to print it all as one but most CD's (in LA anyway) are used to getting both stapled together plus if you work a LOT it's going to become inconvenient to print out new headshots every single time you have to update your resume.

Would like to know your opinion on premade at your own pace acting classes and acting classes made by celebrities..masterclasses Worth it? Or waste of money?

They can certainly be helpful just like reading a book on acting can be helpful. However, I don't think they can compare to an interactive class where you get to perform in front of the teacher and get feedback about your acting. These types of classes can be in person or online like via Zoom.
