For anyone whos bought a 3ds recently with a scratched screen, dont worry! The 3ds' top screen has a lens over top of the actual screen that is easily replacable and cost $5 on amazon for a lens replacement!

Purchasing anything from that expensive company isn't ANYONE'S best bet. You can easily go to your local marketplace or Offer Up, or even an Online Salvation Army and get one WAY cheaper. Then add all the Emulator's, and Roms yourself, which in my opinion is the best part. There's nothing like Customizing the device yourself because you can set it up to your liking, and it's actually a great felling when you accomplish hacking a device that works and doesn't get bricked lol. So yes, it's not your best bet. Great video either way buddy.
I never had any kind of DS as a kid, I got a Gameboy pocket when it released and the next handheld I bought was the PSP. But even without the nostalgia the 3ds is such a great system. By now I owned most handheld systems at one point or another, the switch, even the gameboy micro (which is the only one I regret selling, because it's just so unbelievably good), but last year I bought another new 3ds as soon as I've heard prices are going up in the US, and this time I'm gonna keep it. To me it's the best handheld I ever had and there are still tons of games for me to play. Or to replay. I would even argue that the 3ds right now is the best it's ever been. And the steep prices and large demand don't surprise me one bit.

Same, picked up a real clean dual ips (got lucky with screens) new 3ds xl for 210 on ebay last year and I take it with me just about everywhere. I probably have done more gaming since I picked that up than I have in a long time. Makes it really easy to play when you actually have it with you (unlike the switch, which is too big for that imo)
@marctestarossa8 сағат бұрын
@@tokin420nchokin yeah, it's so much more convenient. Although the new 3ds xl was already a bit too big for me. It's strange, because I had both at one point and kept the XL, then I sold all my handhelds at once and then rebought the non-XL... Even now I'm thinking about swapping it to the bigger model, but when I had the bigger model I wished it would be smaller. I suppose I just need them both again xD But 210 is a killer deal, you could get double that right now ^^ I had a switch and thought I would get a lot of gaming done on the go, but it didn't work for me at all. When I'm on the bus and I need to take my bag, get the switch out, get it out of the case, it actually prevented me from using it outside. I think that's why I loved the GB micro so much: it just fit the 5th pocket of my jeans, the pinnacle of convenient gaming. If my n3ds had bluetooth audio, it would seriously be the best handheld of all time for me.

Also I find that the normal n3ds is way more rugged than the xl model. The metallic paint chips very easily, even when you handle it with care. I think mine ended up even bubbling up at a corner which then flaked off. not the best choice of finish for a device that doesn't need an additional case due to its clamshell form factor.

@marctestarossa yes, portability isnt all its cracked up to be with switch, compared to 3ds anyway. Prior to the nn3dsxl I was taking a ds lite or my ips modded gbasp the most, occasionally my oled modded gbc or maybe one of my modded game gears, but the jailbroken nn3dsxl took the place of just about all of them!

I have the red viper emulator and all the games, but had not heard about n64. I dont probably have room anyway between 3ds, ds, red viper and my gameboy games.

just some tip for you thinking to use hshop cia and convert/decrypt it to use in citra or something, the program doesn't recognize accents or symbols like a star or emoji or something in the name to convert/decrypt. you have to rename to something else or the decrypter won't recognize the letters. the names must not be in, example => Sega 3D fukkoku ākaibusu 3 - FINAL sutēji. fixed example => sega 3d fukkoku akaibusu 3 - FINAL suteji.

Yeah it's useful in 2024 because I CAN PLAY ALL THESE GAMES ON IT. I don't need your to tell me that. We need to stop treating old games and systems like they're obsolete.

I got a new 3ds like 3 weeks ago. I bought a 128gb microSd and now is loaded with tons of games. I'm waiting for some AliExpress faceplates and a hard plastic shell. I would only need to buy a new battery and then I would have my ultimate 3ds . Amazing device
@marctestarossa2 күн бұрын
I added a controller grip and that made it my ultimate 3ds. I take it off when I want to put it in a jeans pocket, but the grip for me makes the difference between cramps and pain after 20 minutes and endless gaming session without any issues. I also have 128gb loaded mainly with 3ds, ds and gba games. also got a new battery, but battery life isn't great with the regular sized new 3ds.

I wish there was a way to merge NDS cheat files so I don't have to always choose whether to have the big full list of cheats for all the games or just the database that enables those circle pad support
@allanpedersen46515 сағат бұрын
Just use the TWpatch to enable the Circle Pad, then you can use the "standard" cheat file for cheats.

Why no PS1 in your video ? if you play on a New 3DS with the correct settings, basically all PS1 game will play perfectly fine.

Don't wanna be pesimistic, just thought it'd be a good idea to ask here, has anyone else's N3DS started getting WAY slower after downloading a bunch of games? Both turning on and loading them the first time Plus it also has some problems with NDS games on TW for some reason

Hacking a 3ds wasn't as easy when I did it. Wish I had an XL, but I'm poor, and I honestly do like the design and feel of the OG system. I have that deep indigo/purple model, which I think looks preety sleek. It's also not illegal to dl any rom; its illegal to put them up for dl, and even the laws regarding this are murky. Basically, the average Joe has nothing to fear (legally) from emulation or dl emulators/roms Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but cant overclocking the system kill it, especially if you use it often?
@GeorgeMcFКүн бұрын
On overclocking, In full honesty I’m not sure. It sounds plausible but I’ve been using my new 3ds overclocked for years now and it’s been totally fine, I guess we’ll have to see if it or anyone else’s dies unexpectedly or because of it.
@MrAweezeКүн бұрын
@GeorgeMcF oh for years? You'd think it'd be fine on average, but who can say on a sample size of one lol
@allanpedersen46515 сағат бұрын
No, because 804MHz is the standard clock speed of the New 3DS, so it is not overclocking (if you somehow can go faster than 804MHz, then it is overclocking that may come with some negative side effects)
@MrAweeze12 сағат бұрын
@allanpedersen465 then my initial thought that overclocking is bad for the system is accurate lol
@tokin420nchokin11 сағат бұрын
Overclocking will result in more heat, and will be harder on stuff. That said Nintendo is notorious for way underclocking stuff.

Wish I never sold mine 😢. The switch just isn’t it for me
@tokin420nchokin11 сағат бұрын
Agreed, switch is awesome at home but too big imo to be really portable. I like the fact the ds/3ds is a pocketable clamshell, protecting the screen. I also love that it goes to sleep when you close it in a hurry.
