They are likely trash unless you get fresh ones. They are designed to absorb moisture from the second they are opened. All your doing is bring home silica holding moisture. It’s not that expensive to buy fresh ones with color changing silica for when they are full. You’d be surprised how fast they reach max moisture.

I do the same. But I also put them on a tray in the oven at low heat to re-dry them before use. If they have already absorbed moisture at least they'll still work.

I put both of them in my gun safe. One week have to recharge them. They have brought the humidity down by 20 I bet the recharge time will get longer in between cycles. So far I like the product.

That is a cool little unit, would be ideal for a safe or even in a small reloading room to keep components dry. I have central AC so it keeps the whole house at 69-70 degrees year round and 45-50% humidity, I'm grateful for it cause I have no problems with moisture or rust on anything. Nice review! I have 3 of the plug in kind that you've shown today. They work for the small gun cabinet i have but I've acquired more firearms so I wish to upgrade to a fireproof safe. Well now this was a interesting video and a dehumidifier set up that looks like it should work. Currently I have been using the goldenrod dehumidifier in my gun safe's and they have to be plugged into a power outlet, but they work very well and they seem to last a very long time.

I've been interested in a safe dehumidifier. I've been using silica packs. And tons of oil. And still had rusting problems with some antiques and a pre Garcia Sako in .222rem mag in this Mississippi humidity. Even with Central AC. Great video as always.

I own a CZ P10C that's similar in size, it has a Holoson Red Dot on it and everything. I can't find a holster that fits the CZ P10C. If you ever get a chance to try out a CZ P10C, ohh you will like it. Hands down the most impressive factory trigger I've ever shot, it's smooth as butter.

This sounds like something I would use, I store my ammo in locked field box's that are water proof {But not submersible} I put rechargeable !0 gram Premium Quality Silica Gel Desiccant Packs In them, Since I live in Alabama, It's Humid and I hate humidity, This may work in my small office, So how often do you have to use New cartridges and what is the cost involving these new cartridges? The cartridges aren't really a consumable. They are filled with the silica gel beads. They soak up the moisture, and then you just dry it back out with the base. They last pretty much indefinitely.😎👍
