KeePass XC Browser Integration did not work for Brave browser ???
@bjarnisg3 жыл бұрын
Hello Tom. Thank you for this video. I did also watch your previous introduction video for KeePassXC, that I recommend to everyone to watch as well (and it can be found in this video description). I have two questions I would like to ask you after watching both of these videos, for those who are using cross platforms, like Linux + Windows or Mac. Do you know if such users can also copy the database file from their Linux system, and just move it over to their "weird" system? How will you get your password in a scenario when you are using a mobile device?
@bjarnisg3 жыл бұрын
Found the answers I needed :) keepassxc.org/docs/#faq-keyfile-security Thanks again!

The DB is just a file. You can copy it over to any system and open it. I use the file on Linux and Windows right now. There are apps for Android and iPhone as well.

what is the difference between the portable and standard version?
@SwitchedtoLinux Жыл бұрын
On windows, is what I am assuming you are talking about. The Standard is installed into a location, added to the start menu, and places the dll files into the system folders like regular installed applications. The Portable is all contains within a single folder so you can execute the application from that folder without making any system changes to your computer.

@shoukokomi80813 жыл бұрын
In Short comparison: Bitwarden is for those normie that have account like FB, Google, Insta, Twitter, etc and want some safe password manager. KeepassXC: is for those really into securing their password or have really sensitive account like Banks, some Secret service in tor that they only know, etc and not trusting those cloud PS manager tho. BW is safe tho don't get me wrong but its not for me

The browser extension doesn't like my Debian version of KeePassXC -which is too old even though I just downloaded it from Synaptic. This program is not very simple and I am losing my patience with it. Without it, LibreWolf seems almost unusable. It would be nice if devs made a short tutorial for any program they put out (I include both LibreWolf and KeePassXC here). This is the kind of frustration that turns people off to FOSS.

Also if you happen to mess up your linux installation or something else which leads to a broken system. How are we supposed to fetch the data that have been stored locally on Keepass XC?
@jackluo60193 жыл бұрын
What I do is keep the database on a USB or external hardrive. What you can also do is keep the database on a cloud service if that's what you wanna do.
