57:31 From what I've heard and seen the Netflix show ruined the arc of most of the main characters by changing their beginning personalities. I know for certain that they threw out a massive piece of lore by allowing Aang to fly without his glider. (That implies his soul has let go of all earthly desires and he's reached the highest level of airbending, which obviously shouldn't be possible at the start of the series-and, in fact, Aang was *never* able to do.) I don't understand the defence, "Was X adaption ever gonna be as good; no." Like, why not? Why couldn't they at least understand and closely mimic the original characters' progressions. If Aang isn't almost-irresponsibly childish, how does he now (interestingly) transition into the responsible master of the 5 bending arts; if Katara isn't hot-headed and without full control of her bending, how does she now (interestingly) learn to direct that anger to protect her friends; if Sokka isn't humorously prideful trying to be 'the man' of the tribe-effectively to the point of being sexist, how does he now (interestingly) become a humble, respectful swordsman; if Zuko isn't eager, dishonorable, and visibly bitter, how does he now (interestingly) have one of the best subversive redemption arcs of any character in media. "Doesn't take away the old stuff," but it arguably does in the public mind, though. A significant number of people will now associate 'Avatar' with a live-action abridgment, diluting the public opinion about this brand. Would you rather die forgotten or as Netflix mediocrity? I might rather the former.

Zuko and Iroh's story is honestly a lot stronger, but that's mostly because they spend *so much* time on them. Sokka and Aang's growth is truncated because their key flaws don't exist, and Katara's character is hurt by not having those two idiots to drive her crazy. The thing is, adaptations are never as good as the original, because the original was designed to be in the original medium. The only way for an adaptation to come close is if it changes things to focus on the strengths of the other medium. The only way an adaptation can be improve on the original is if it changes the right core things so they feel like they were always intended to be in the new medium. If all you want is them to closely mimic the original, there's no point in doing an adaptation, just go watch the original again. It has a lot of things that are impossible to translate to other mediums. "diluting the public opinion" that's the thing though, the opinion is diluted because people who never saw the original and never would have ever seen the original might have watched the adaptation. Nothing is lost, the better version is right there on netflix too.

If you buy and run Dungeon keeper on the GOG launcher, all the problems it usually haves running on newer machines is fixed. for someone who replays it a couple times a year it has ben a great help

I literally just re downloaded DK2 to play again last night. Not because of Quill though, my partner and i started making random noises and she said i sounded like the Salamander, so we started seeing who remembered what noises from the game lol.

Doom RL is a wonderful game. Had tons of fun with it several years ago. Never got particularly far but it was always good to try.

You probably already know this as you have more videos but Chicken Breeding increases your population limit. +1 population for every 4 blocks to a total of +4 with 16 blocks of Chicken Coop.

IIRC you can stair /up/ as well as down from your starting lvl, provided the map allows for it ofc :)

If you're looking for a pretty good game that's faithful to Dungeon Keeper, take a look at War for the Overworld. It even has the same narrator as those old games.

i bought this game a long time ago and reattempted to play it a few times throughout the years and every time i end up running into the same issue.... Either A) Nothing happens, and i just blitz to full trained orcs and ogres with support spells and annihilate everything, or B) a freaking Cyclops or Drake just walks into my keep when i have like 3 orcs to protect with.

This might be a gateway drug to dwarf fortress. For people that are intimidated by DF. It’s hard to not compare these games to giants like DF and Rimworld, which might skew my perception of the game. Kinda unfair but it’s reality.

Have you tried Dungeons 3 btw? Played it recently and really quite enjoyed it, it's more of a closer spiritual sequel to Dungeon Keeper.

another great spiritual sequel for dungeon keeper is "war for the overworld". it even has the same voice actor as narrator as the Mentor from dungeon keeper
