That male looks really good! Almost like a guppy/dalmation mollie mix.

Did you catch them yourself??? Western Mosquitofish have been brought all over the world since they are so tough, but I don't think there are black spotted ones.
@EastAllenAquatics7 жыл бұрын
I actualky got them from a convention. You can find them in brakish waters in Florida. My friend found some there

His are eastern mosquitofish, which live south of Gambusia affinis. Western mosquitofish are the northern, cold-hardy species.

do you know where to get melanistic Gambusia in north Carolina? I have plenty of the normal ones in my pond but never seen a melanistic one there.
@EastAllenAquatics7 жыл бұрын
timothy edelman I'm not sure. They may just not be in your area. Alot of times they like brackish water
@ScienceFoundation3 жыл бұрын
My 2 acre pond is full of them, and I didn't even introduce them.
@kingkato216 жыл бұрын
What species can be kept with them?
@EastAllenAquatics6 жыл бұрын
kingkato21 I have kept them with least killies. They aren't really aggressive technically, but they do have a knack for nipping fins. Do be careful of fish with long fins
