Sharing insight of a thinking high handicapper (me) - I, and many other beginners or re-starters, face the problem of "eyes off the ball" mostly on the course, in a game situation. What really matters, methinks, is eyes off the ball "at the impact". And it comes, to many, like me, from performance anxiety. In fact, most of the time, for me, it's the downswing where all the mess happens. Fast arms, eyes off the ball, disconnect, etc, etc. I guess this goes away (it had, when I had started 10-12 years back) with more practice and experience. Hope you don't mind my two bits. 😊

I swing at the area that is behind the golf ball. About an area that is 7 inches. Promotes a smoother swing.

I don' look at the golf ball anymore and my ball go straight most of the time. I looked at a spot behind the golf ball. It worked for me.

Hi Aimee, My swing is more central, my shoulder turn is more flattish.My head rotates tilts towards the trailing right side so that at the top of my backswing my eyeline contact is not anymore with the ball. When I start the downswing I get the eye contact. I think there is barely space between my left shoukder and chin as well when the bsw is completed. What would you recommend for this problem? I would appreciate if you could comment. Thank you.

Top lesson as always Aimee. Q. Sometimes when I focus on the ball I tend to reverse weight onto left side at top of back swing. To counter that I inadvertently sway to right. This might also be tension? Many Thanks.

how to stay over ball when teeing off

Keeping the shoulders away from the ears and use the proper muscles is great advice. Personally I don't look at the golf ball because that can create an hit impulse. I do keep the head steady.

Is it OK to a player's swing, who overswings a little bit more to the back, with eye not exactly to the ball but still able to glance at the ball?
@GolfWithAimee4 жыл бұрын
As long as the golfers has decent stability in the lower body, and is able to come back to the ball consistently, it should be ok. But it is best to address the issue of over swinging. Because over swinging can cause other poor habits. I hope this helps! Good luck~

@@GolfWithAimee Yea, yesterday my son started to listen and follow your instructions on 'eyes on the ball'. And it was so amazing that he managed the changes so well the first time out. Never thought he sort of felt so relieved for the changes that gave him the much needed confidence in his swing like never before after so many years and couple coaches in training. Wow!
