Re: Vallejo German Grey - it is by far, my favorite all around go to "off-black" color.

My reaction changed from "Oh boy! He is painting the horse yellow, how is this going to work?" to "this is amazing!" after you applied Agrax Earthsade. That shade is magic!

Your base coats are always so clean, the models always look incredible just after the wash stage.

happy you painted a Rough Rider my friend, love them since Teddy Roosevelt was one and the concept to me is just still cool

Awesome as always, was purely watching for relaxation and tips (particularly horses WAC and DMH). And then you mentioned Canadian Battledress, I’m listening to a lot of Mark Zuehlke books atm and am trying to resist another army, damn you and your ways…

Fantastic work. I think this sculpt (darn slouch hats are so stylish!) might finally get me interested in rough riders.

I'm not really a big scifi bloke, but I absolutely love this model, but I do have a soft spot for the Australian light horse uniform

I wish I could afford getting an army of Vic Minis Arcadians or Van Diemens... or both. Amazing work.

Looks great. I gotta replace my FEP and get ready to print these. I’ll probably want to do the desert raiders first.

Horses were extensively used in the "Bush War" from Rhodesia's forces in the'70s, so it isn't so weird to have a mounted force in a sci-fi setting. Naturally going to charge an enemy with a sword it's a little too exagerated! Nice mini, very simple paint scheme, that could be adapted to other infantry forces.

I kinda wish I'd joined the Kickstarter. I loved the Praetorian guard rough riders but I didn't really have the money to spare at the time. I also have a huge pile of shame to work through first. I'm also not working on my guard at the moment. But they are so cool that I kinda wish I'd just done it anyway

Troy. Did that print with the horse and rider as one?
@SonicSledgehammerStudio Жыл бұрын
The top half of the rider, arms, and head are all separate. The legs are built on as part of the horse itself. I'd thought about painting him in pieces, but given how precise some of the fit was while dry-fitting him, it was a safer bet to just assemble him and paint around him.

How easy (or hard) would it be to convert these figures if you wanted to use them in a WW1 Palestinian campaign as Lighthouse?
@SonicSledgehammerStudio Жыл бұрын
More trouble than it's worth, I imagine. There's a lot of weird armour and equipment bits you'd need to get rid of and somehow cover or sculpt over.

Just now realizing this Rough Rider has nothing to do with Teddy Roosevelt.
