it's dope to see someone on KZbin keep pike or musky. I live in Alaska and also keep predatory freshwater fish found here in Alaska. I have a 2,000 gallon indoor pond which has 2 northern pike, 1 musky, a couple bourbot, several walleye, and a silver salmon.

What are those lid things that you use the white thing @sc fish keeping
@SCFishKeeping4 жыл бұрын
I use two different kinds of DIY lids! The white stuff is called egg crate lighting diffuser. You can get it in a big sheet from Lowe's, Home Depot or Menards for cheap! Then you use a knife and sort of... Hack it to size! Works great because you can cut out sections around filters or cords and still have a snug fit to the tank!

Great video. When I was a wee boy I was fishing with my pa and I captured a 2 inch ugly fish and I put it in my 40 gallon tank. It was aggressive, hungry and it hated being cooped up in a tank. It grew fast and soon it was 8 inches. The entire time it would viciously slap water at me when I opened the lid and skip along the surface of the water. It went half crazy so I let it go before my dad could build a pond to grow it out to eating size..

Dont let anyone give any problems for owning a pike, they are invasive and just like the snakehead, if you catch one you can not release it back into the wild, you can kill them all day without any problems from fish and game. There are lakes with pike in them where they have completely wiped out all the native fish and there are now only pike in the lake.

@@SCFishKeeping This is an important question, requiring much consideration. 😊 I have a few candidates for your consideration: Julio Santana, the world's deadliest hit-man. He is from the Amazon, so maybe not quite as appropriate for a North American fish. Sarah Connor (from Terminator films) as a completely bad-ass lady, if it turns out your muskie is female. Chuck Norris - did he ever play anything not deadly? El Tigre, alluding to the tigerish stripes as well as his deadliness Killer - simple and to the point.

Bad comes with the good and you can't be perfect but I am glad to hear that most of the fish you keep, that you do so for the pride of collecting but also to inform all of us if we should ever want to keep something that you might have and learn about what they live like.
