Lithuania is NOT Russia without Putin. Lithuania is Lithuania. We are a Baltic culture, a people with our own unique language and history. Unfortunately, we were also illegally occupied by Russians and the USSR, and forced to learn russian language in schools. The problem with russians, even the "good ones" is that they operate from a very imperialist mindset. I hope this woman can learn to respect Lithuania for Lithuania and ensure her kids assimilate and learn the language. We are not and will never become "another Russia" by any means.

If I interpret her words correctly, I think she means that Lithuania is what Russia COULD have been, rather than simply Lithuania is a copy and paste of Russia minus Putin. I share your thoughts though, that hopefully all those who take refuge in Lithuania respect the country and are prepared to integrate, learn the language, and embrace the culture.

You wrote so many words and didn't even mentioned that your and Russian tribe members mitochondrial DNA is the same Haplogroup R1a 🧬 Your message can be clearly understood after reading about "triune brain theory". You're very protective of your territory Mimicking empathy and having empathy for your own blood is slightly different. It's not a battle who's right who's not. It's a discussion, which helps developing "critical thinking"

That's the problem with the so called "russian dissidents". They come to your country and they see it as russia especially if you talk to them in ruasian as a courtesy. Soon enough talks about brother nations begin and then tanks follow. Very few russians are different. The imperial mindset goes away slowly and only after the empire is taken down.

Lithuania is not ruzzia without putin. Lithuanians are not russians and they will never be. Those, who share the same sad history with them can easily understand that she said exactly what she said. Especially those, who have been occupied by them previously. Even "good russians' have their imperialistic mindset, they think that without russia world would not thrive, but not even hiddenly sympathising USSR...

Lithuania could keep Navalnists safer than they are now if only they agreed to cooperate with the Lithuanian police more closely. To be honest, I was shocked to hear that they don't seem to want proper protection. I understand that under normal circumstances every person wants to live completely freely but knowing that you're a target, wouldn't it make sense to rethink certain things? I'm happy to hear that the lady in the video has found a home in our country but saying that Lithuania is Russia without a dictator shows her lack of cultural awareness and sensitivity. Anyway, all the best to her family.

I think people oculd be a bit more charitable in the interpretaiton onf the without Putin part, it's clear she did not really have a clue on our culture, and actual history. It's bad to assume they are incredibly prepared for what are the actual differences between then places, it has hints of the old imperial attitude you do foten meet in people from Russia, but so do Ltihuanians have presumtions and wrong ideas about other cultures we do not really know (one word thats enough to describe it is the word Ciukcia still being used in common speech). But I think it will be interesting to see how the dissident community will grow and show itself
