Nick does an excellent job at being his own artist while honoring the memory of Bob. Not trying to be Bob Ross as no one could, but taking the lessons Bob taught and carrying the torch on for another generation.

Ditto I'm a fan of this guy... he doesn't exactly have the Bob _je ne sais quoi_ in terms of just oozing comfort and gentleness (I guess the qualities that give ASMR lovers such an affinity for Bob) but in terms of being a decent protege and skilled painter, I like Nick quite well.

First time watching Nick and I must say, he has done a wonderful job succeeding Bob. He's using the proper techniques, using Bob's signature statements and phrases without trying to copy/imitate him. I get the feeling Nick understands that it's more than just the technical aspects of the painting that people enjoyed about Bob Ross and so he's making sure to give people what they want but doing it in his own style of delivery. Any fan watching would expect to hear the "beat the devil out of it" and so Nick ensures that phrase is used. I admit when I'm painting at home (home repair painting, not artistic painting) and I have to clean out my brushes, if I don't say "beat the devil out of it" I'm at least thinking it.

@@h91rex100 that’s an extremely pessimistic view on the original comment, Bob had no bad bones in his body, he didn’t want to show people how good he was, but how good they could be. My only real issue with Bob Ross and William Alexander was the length of their shows. Television at the time was very strict about time slots and length of shows. Both Bob and William had parts of their painting edited for time. Nick has time to show more detail ideas and I really appreciate that. He is also a talented teacher, like Bob. This is the first video of his I have watched, but it won’t be the last.
