Keeping Vrook Alive + Mercenary Win & Fighting Vrook + Khoonda Win

A quick tutorial video for Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords. I show how to allow the mercenaries to win while still avoiding a fight with Jedi Master Vrook Lamar. As well as how to side with the citizens of Khoonda while still getting the opportunity to face Vrook in battle.

This now creates a perfectly acceptable canon possibility of a more nuanced Exile, who murders Vrook and shows him no mercy, yet is perfectly helpful to the settlers and kind to the other Masters all the way to the Enclave. The others will attack you at the Enclave, sadly, but you can still end the game on the light side.

See, the thing about that is that, unlike Vrook, Kavar isn't an idiot. Although, maybe he is. How Vrook managed to talk both Kavar and Zez-Kai Ell into trying to disarm the Exile is beyond my comprehension.

@@tripleoo0 Well, the Jedi as a whole were too scared of the Sith Neophyte (Force Leech) coming back as the Exile had the capacity to promote its power through experience and raw Dark Side aura.

@@louisiananlord17 Which is only a threat if the exile is actually a Sith. I'd venture to say that 75-80% of people choose the light side ending, in which case, the Jedi (read: Vrook) are completely and utterly wrong and short-sighted.

I learned about saving Khoonda and killing Vrook by accident in my first attempt at getting the "You had no choice" line at the rebuilt enclave. It's a good thing I have learned to create a new save slot every time I hit a major plot point.

Has anybody else noticed that the voice actor for Azkul was also the voice for Darth Malgus in Star Wars: The Old Republic? Holy Jesus did these games have an incredible knack for All-Star voice acting talent.

Vrook is my favourite because he makes players hate him in a genuine jet tragic way. He doesn't rebel against his teaching nor does he question his beliefs. He doesn't need to slaughter anyone to achieve it, and that to me is good writing. Vrook is human, all too human.

The ineptitude of the Jedi that led to their downfall following the Mandalorian wars and not being able to evolve and punish Jedi that go off the beaten path that was the Jedi code. For him there is no in between. There is only dogma.

I knew you could kill him after siding with the administrator, but I didn’t realize you could side with the mercs and avoid a fight. I figured that, considering how he’s gone on and on about how bad you are, he’d recognize what you did and confront you about it, but I guess not. I knew he didn’t care too much about Khoonda when he opted to investigate the Jedi bounty (which he could’ve done some other time) instead of fighting against or at least warning about an upcoming attack on the embassy, but wow

Vrook is the textbook example of a dogmatic Jedi, only caring about the traditions and security of the Order. He and others like him ignore the Living Force and the lives of the people in the galaxy do not matter to them. All that matters to them is strict adherence to the single ideal of the Jedi Code, the "there is no emotion, there is peace" version which that's the light side to an nth degree of extremism. The first Jedi Code, "Emotion, yet peace" was more nuanced and human, whereas the new dogmatic code was extreme and preached for the Jedi to be aloof and uncaring bastards.

I knew about turning the administrator over to the mercs, but I figured (for some dumb reason) that was removed in the Restored Content mod. I'm doing a Dark ending Light Jedi as well as a Dark Jedi Light Ending, so this should be handy.

Wow the amount of choice in this game is insane. I’ve played it a dozen times and I’m still learning new things! On a side note, is it possible you could do a video on what happens if you spare some of the masters and kill the others? I haven’t seen anything like it on here :)

Bit late to this but if you do that you have to fight the remaining masters when they arrive on dantooine. And you fo it without a companion

Just found out that Vrook just chills in the Enclave until the Exile is done talking to him after turning on the settlers at the last minute. Not sure why the Mercenaries wouldn't see him or try to collect on the Jedi bounty and how he wouldn't suspect the Exile of betrayal.

Now I'm frustrated because, as another commenter pointed out, doing the same thing on Onderon (letting Vaklu kill the Queen) results in you always having to fight the Jedi. I was hoping to reunite the Jedi on Dantooine (even though I later learned Kreia kills them anyways), but simp lord Kavar just had to get in the way of a strong self sufficient Onderon.

Vaklu may not have been perfect, but at least he actually cared about his people and their culture. I know such a thing is impossible, but I'm curious what Queen Talia's reaction would be to knowing that because of her her people will "lose themselves in the ocean of the Republic and become the people of Onderon no more" congrats on killing your entire planet's culture 👍 It always depresses me to side with Talia on LS play-thoughs

I wanted to kill Vrook but instead I avoided the fight with him by letting the mercs kill the administrator. I forgot that I should have gone to the mercs instead of the militias before the attack lol. About killing Vrook while siding with Khoonda is new to me so thanks

Much as I theoretically like the different possible outcomes being in the game, the writing here is really weak. I literally just don't buy that Vrook would be too dumb to figure out if the Exile betrayed Adere to the mercs at the last minute (particularly given how it justifies all his suspicions about his/her treacherous nature). And the fact that *this* is an actual viable option, but siding with Vaklu on Onderon while sparing Master Kavar *isn't*, is irritating.

hey there, this may be a dumb question, but is it possible to kill for istance one jedi master and have the other two live? I am aware that if you kill the first one, then all of them have to die by your hand, but what if one lives and the others die? Is that even possible?

if you kill any of the masters the others meet you on dantooine and instantly attack you because they sense you killed the other so if you kill any of them you get the darkside outcome anyway

It's something like three lines of dialogue, including the Exile's reply. Also, given that most people's first instinct is to slice Vrook, that means you have to turn on Kavar and Zez-Kai Ell and fight them both simultaneously, which isn't necessarily difficult, but it's very sad, because those two would certainly have understood under any other circumstance.

Based on Kreia's visions, it seems the canon choice is the one where you side with the mercenaries, yet get master Vrook's help. I can not accept that. I refuse to. You may gain a potential ally/army (I believe that's the only reason Meetra would have to side with the mercenaries, some sort of hope in getting them on her side through manipulation), but the cost is too high. The settlers are good people. There are other ways to get an army.

You can be dark side in the end, but you have to sacrifice some alignment points to the light. You have to choose to support the monarchy on Onderon, to name one example. With all the masters at the enclave, and heavily on the dark side, Kreias dialogue will be similar in all aspects - except one line. A peculiar choice by the creators, no doubt.
