The boat house is great! The hot pads are heat resistant, but I would not store them above the stovetop. Hooks or decorative knobs lower on cabinets may be better placement.

in the listing tell / should they bring their own boat, how is the fishing and do they need fishing license, water skiing wake board and wake restrictions some lake history depths and lengths and most important are there liquors stores near by or to they have to swim to your new house to get a drink and banjo concert !!!! Looks great, I had the same idea. After investigating the insurance nightmare for a floating cabin Airbnb, months of searching produced not one company that would cover me. I also thought a waiver of liability would work, but after talking with several lawyers they strongly advised against that. Courts will not recognize waiver of liability forms. Good luck

So first things first. I love living on the lake thru the two of you and Iko. Now, I'm sure you've been asked before. How are lake houses protected against lightening? I'd love to travel from Western PA to Funtana 😁 Lake. But, that's my biggest worry.

In theory the cable that goes down to the anchor on the lakebed would act as a sort of grounding rod, but in reality, lightning just isn’t really a concern on this lake because we are surrounded by mountains. We are no where near the tallest thing in our vicinity. strikes tend to happen on the ridge tops. anything is possible but we’ve definitely never heard of a houseboat being struck by lightning anywhere on this lake 🙏

Many people also don't know that there were a few people that lost their lives as the dam was being built. I'm not sure of the exact number but as the concrete was being poured, some workers fell into it and they had no way to get them out of the thick concrete.

I just looked at your listing. A couple of suggestions. It looks like it’s too late for this Summer but in High Demand times only rent for 1 week minimum. $225 a night is fine but add weekly rates, maybe $1,000-$1,200. June, July, first 2 weeks of August, Spring Break, Thanksgiving and Christmas should be Premium rental weeks. Typically Sat to Sat is the norm but renting Friday and Saturday’s will cost you money. I used to have Beach Rentals so I have much experience but I’m sure you’ll get lots of advice. At least you won’t get 20 college kids trying to stay at one time. Lol. Good luck.

Thank you so much!! we do have solar, but would have to spend a few more thousand bucks to power an ac unit. I’m not sure it’s something we’re planning on at this time but we’ll see haha. We can’t dive or we would have, but we have a certified diver coming down this weekend to give it a go!!!

a certified diver to dive haha. diving is dangerous and requires thousands of dollars of equipment, trainings, and experience. we’re not talking about a hold-your-breath and go look type thing, it’s over 70ft down so oxygen tanks or at the very least, a hookah breathing rig, is necessary to even get close to to bottom. plus lights, wetsuit, special masks, etc. it’s a whole thing 😅

We love dogs but keep it No Dog. We have a 155 lb dog that only comes in at night and only stays on the tile in his 4X4 feet space and is not allowed to roam the house. He is the best, he doesn't smell to "US" but we are the owner. There is no way to keep any dog from smelling like a dog. We have 2 boys and we will eventually book your beautiful place.

Haha we don’t have electricity, just a couple solar panels. A microwave wouldn’t run for 10 seconds, it’s an off grid boat. Think “glamping.” This is just not the right rental for folks who need things fast & convenient. Don’t get me wrong it’s got a LOT to offer, but convenience is not on the list 🤪 gotta slow down & be on Lake Time here! 🏝️
