One of the things we insisted on many years ago: NOBODY helps move the rig unless they have full financial responsibility. No exceptions. And you’re spot-on: somebody trying to “help” will just say, “oh, sorry about that” and you’ll still have to get any damages sorted yourself.

I had to pause for a minute when Trish got emotional about the military family as I got emotional too. Thanks for that as my family is a military family. Your appreciation and recognition of their sacrifice was so touching. And thank you for these awesome videos that not only give us tips on how to have this adventure but inspire us to DO it!

There was something beautiful in this episode that i have to recognize . You took the time to call out how you respect and communicate with one another and how you fail at it on occasion. An absolutely stunning display of marriage that I hope doesn’t go unnoticed by all that see this.

I appreciate your acknowledgment of military spouses, they also serve. I did 21 years in the Navy and when I left on my last deployment to Somalia my wife had a 5 yr old and a baby in a carrier to raise while she also ran a successful daycare and preschool. Our boys grew up with us doing a lot of tent camping in the southwest. They are both merchant sailors now and leave their families on a regular basis. I enjoy watching your adventures, thank you for sharing.

Hi KYD, I've seen a couple of your videos and was watching this one when you came to the part of being in Grand Haven, MI, I was amazed to see our Solaire starting at the 16:35 and several times after, in fact I'm walking around the corner at 17:36. I remember your rig as you have that deck off the side. As I recall the Airstream across from us didn't put their awning up and spent the entire storm holding it from blowing completely off. As we do say in MI, if you don't like the weather, wait 15 min and it will change, especially on the west side. GH campground has been a favorite of ours for the past 20 years or so. Hope to meet you someday.

So many emotions on one episode ! Absolutely my favorite episode EVER !!! GOD BLESS YOU ! You made an old ladies day today 💕

My answer is twofold. First, I challenge you research history to find the answers to your question. Either we learn from history or we are doomed to repeat it. Second, our strong military protects this country, our allies, and even our enemies from world war 3, or anything like it. Look back to the basic ideal that founded this country...citizens wanting representation (a say) in what taxes they were required to pay to a money hungry king. Look back at Hitler and the power he gained in his own country and then attempted to expand through Europe. PS- If we lived in some of the dictator run countries that exist we would have limited access to the internet, if any, and possibly no opportunity to see anything on YT. Don't take freedom for granted. Our military protects it for you too.

The same thing happened to us! A dump truck took out a wire and we did not see it and drove on as all these other vehicles were pulled along the side of the road. We snagged the wire on or AC unit and dislodged it. Everyone was yelling at us not to get out of the RV for fear of getting electrocuted. Turns out it was a phone line and it was taken off the top safely and we drove on but had to find a place that could do an emergency fix, re-seating the AC with new bolts. The old ones were bent pretty badly and we could see the sky through the roof. We got it done and moved on down the road.

My husband and I are learning this. We were driving to Gettysburg and got detoured into a small town. I am still not entirely comfortable with all, the sounds of towing but heard a weird tapping thudding noise. I told my husband but he thought it was just the road. Remembering our agreement, “if either of us feels like somethings not right, we pull over to check” he pulled over. After the both of us checking around the rig and not finding anything we started to get back in and that’s when we heard it- the loud hiss of air escaping! We had run over a 3/4” lag bolt that rammed its way into our truck tire. 😣 We were able to change the tire and get back on the road. But listening to each other and trusting each other has been crucial!

Ha something similar happened to my husband and I while leaving a campground; actually our first RV trip. He was driving, I was outside directing. I knew he couldn't make the turn and had him back up. Tried again, just not enough room. Two guys came over and tried to help telling him to keep going he was fine and when I spoke up one shouted at me, "Who is doing the directing here?" and then continued to tell him to go. I shouted so loudly for him to stop because had he gone forward he would have ripped off the back left side of the RV. We ended up having to back it all the way out. Thanks for all of your help and advice and great videos. You're so much fun and such a great resource as well.

Fenn Valley! I grew up not to far from there, it’s a great place. I found your channel a few months ago, so I’ve been bouncing around through your videos, and I’ve really been enjoying them!

As a trucker Mark we are taught to GOAL. Get out and look. Like you said, so many drivers dont realize you are both low and high. I've been backed into a build because a manager at a Kroger store never looked at my 13'6. He just looked at my side view. I learned that lesson 20 years ago.

Mark....your family is hilarious and your wife is beautiful, but when she cries.....it really breaks my heart. Can’t imagine how it makes you feel. Great video and great job with maneuvering that big rig. Props all around!

Tricia, I was crying too. I admire military family’s, and I pray for soldiers and their families. They are fighting for our life. Btw, you son Caleb is hilarious. Like I said before, I’m a nanny and I take care of 3 boys. One of them is named Caleb, and he has ginger (red) hair. I love watching your c channel. This is the third time I’ve watch this episode.

Good advice on this video. Only the two of you are to communicate. We use walkie talkies and sometimes our phones with one person outside. We know our height limitations on our rig and are very aware of low lines, branches, bridges and overpasses. We have had to exit the highway a few times because an overpass was an inch lower than our height. Glad the overpass was marked. You could install one of those fiberglass whip rods on the front of your truck with the length set at the height of your rig. Like the ones on the vehicles riding ahead of semis with wide, large loads. It would take a lot of guess work out of it.

You guys make me feel so welcomed in your lives, I feel like I am there visiting with each video I see (I’ve been binge watching for 3 weeks now lol 😂)! Y’all’s videos got me to get myself a trailer and hit the road after 15 years from the last time I RVd. I purchased the RV after following your advice and not settling on a trailer, but getting the floor plan and even the color scheme inside. Thank you for all you do to inform and entertain! I am excited to try being a KYD Insider soon and start new adventures, travel new paths, create memories along our journey. G-d bless and safe travels!

Military spouses are the back bone to those who serve our country. So when we thank a vet for their service, never forget the sacrifices their spouses make to support those that serve. Nice Job!!!
