I am so happy to got to know about this because I have also learned about the Indo Pakistani War based on the history of Bangladesh. Indo Pakistani War of 1971 was indeed a historic win not only for India but also for Bangladesh. I definitely agree with you on Indira Gandhi and understood the clear message. She created Emergency, which was 'one of the darkest periods of Indian democracy'. But, at the same time, as a PM, she has also made contributions for India which I cannot deny. I'm not condoning what she did during the emergency but she still did so some good: Indira Gandhi diplomatically deescalated tensions with China which was stronger at the time. She relieved radical military officers who wanted India to conquer Bangladesh which would have violated the agreements India made with the USSR and US, and cause an unnecessary war. Relations with the US improved under her which was handy in relieving a domestic famine. She was not a saint but least she wasn't trying to endanger her own country with conflicts and respected the sovereignty of other nations even if it made her unpopular.

Strengthened the National security like no one did . 3. first peaceful nuclear explosion at Pokhran in the Rajasthan desert on May 18, 1974. 4.The 20-point programme 5. opened a new Ministry of Sports 6.India hosted the Ninth Asian Games in New Delhi in November 1982. 7. Indira Gandhi was the only foreign head of government out of 113 nations attended the Stockholm conference 1972 and she brought wildlife conservation act 1972. 8. Maam , one suggestion - great but full history on each of this would be great. 93k soldiers were released to Pakistan without negotiations, we could have claimed Kashmir back and also Indian soldiers back. her name - was not indira Gandhi - it was indira gandy, wife of Firoz Gandy. What a load of non-sense and shallow review! This lady talks about the abolition of Privy Purse. Does she know the true history behind it? When India got Independence, a whole of bunch of Princely states were given an option to be an independent nation or join with the Union Territory of India or Pakistan. These Princely states gave everything that they have had to join the Union Territory. In return for handing over all their assets, Mr. Patel declared the Privy Purse so that they will get paid on a monthly basis a sum of rupees, completely derived from their assets' investment, and not take a single paise from the Taxpayers money. This was so put in the Indian constitution. Mrs. Gandhi didn't want anyone to be popular/powerful, so she tried all possible ways to get rid of that, including judicial way and finally went by the President's route. When the courts struck down all her routes, finally she passed Constitutional amendments and passed that these amendments can never be removed. Just to take revenge on them. Not a single paise was lost from the Taxpayers for paying them and only came from a portion of their assets investment. What she did broke a promise made to them at the time of Independence. This @Keerthi has put out a video, with little or no research on these kind of things. What a shame!
