Kees Dusink - The Blues Forever Project (promo)

Kees Dusink, winner of the Dutch Blues Award in 2012, puts together a band to pursue a dream. The Kees Dusink Blues Forever Project Band is born. It is a unique concept of captivating instrumental blues to the bone. They released their first CD “Forever Blue” end of summer 2015 and it’s a hit. Many live gigs follow; press and audience place this band high in the top five of Dutch blues bands. A dream has come through. Blues Magazine summarizes as follows; “Forever Blue is a Masterpiece”. The German press states; “Brilliant; lean backwards, close your eyes and dream away”. Belgium press goes even further; “flashbacks to the golden period of Peter Green”. Most of the band’s work is original and created by Kees Dusink. The band’s set also includes work from blues hero’s including Peter Green and for instance Ronny Earl. Slow blues, swing blues, Chicago blues; the band mixes all of it in an exciting show. The lead guitar played by Kees straight from his heart replaces the traditional singing voice in a unique way. But when not playing his harp “Slim” Robin van Roon jumps in with a surprisingly solid blues voice. The rhythm section (Buzz Badweather, Frans Ogier and Bas Buis) produces a solid groove. Willem van der Schoof (winner of the Dutch Blues Award in 2016) completes the band and its sound. Have a listen to the band’s promo and judge for yourself; then play-on!

Actually "playing" the guitar the way it should be played -- with emotion and feeling. (Almost) anybody can "shred" with volume and distortion, but to play is another thing.
