Jimi Hendrix, Mike Bloomfield, Peter Green, Memphis Minnie, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Etta Baker, Big Bill Broonzy, Arthur 'Big Boy' Crudup, Lowell Fulson and Chuck Berry should be on the list instead of Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram, Joe Bonamassa, Robben Ford etc. Their influence on the development of blues guitar cannot just be cast aside. I agree that Lonnie Johnson was a giant of blues and deserves great recognition. However, this list was made to highlight a variety of incredible guitarists, and unfortunately, not everyone could be included. I'll keep this in mind for future lists. Thanks for commenting!

What made whose middle class white boys, growing up in Surrey, i( a very middle class county south of London) in the middle 1960s fall in love with the Black blues music from the southern states of America from the early 190's.( Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Mike Taylor Gary Moore, John Mayall and many others) and then take it back to the States and say "Look what you've got !!!

The British guys in the '60s fell in love with the blues because it was raw and real, unlike the pop music back then. Musicians like Eric Clapton and John Mayall were super influenced by American blues guitarists and brought that vibe into their own music. When they took the blues back to the U.S., they kinda reminded everyone how awesome it was. Which songs by these guys do you like the most? Thanks for the comment!

I don't like "greatest" lists. Everyone mentioned here is great in their own way, and you definitely left off some that I would have included. Having said that, when I heard "Roaree's'" name, I knew that whoever compiled this list was a serious aficionado of blues guitarists. That means it was extremely difficult to cut the list down from, say 100, to just thirty. You did a commendable job. Thanks for this video.

I understand, "greatest" lists always spark debates! Everyone has their favorites and leaving out some great names is inevitable. That being said, i will mention very influential artists like Charley patton, big joe Williams, Robert Nighthawk, Lightnin' Slim, hop wilson, Steve Cropper And of course many others have already mentioned before me here in the comments.
