Nice attention to detail! Getting ready to build mine and you gave me some great ideas! Why no sealant on the collar? Just curious because everyone I see they seal the crap out of it and glue it to the top.

Thanks! I didn't bother sealing because it's a very tight fit with the lip of the freezer, so I'm not too worried about leaking. You can't really knock the collar off with just pushing, needs to be lifted. Unless you've got some rowdy guests rough housing with it. Also, I'd like to be able to lift off the collar without too much fuss, if needed. If I start noticing leaks or condensation or anything, I will revisit and possibly put some sealant down.

I plan on having the collar hinge (I hope). I have several boxes of faux rock tile panels left over from another project. I am concerned about spacing off the skin of the freezer because I understand that is what cools the compressor
