How do you tell when your Kefir is ready, especially if you're stirring it all the time?

Well thats pretty easy, since you'll be monitoring it more really, in a shorter amount of time. I disturbed it maybe 4 times, swirled it. Did a couple times in fridge a couple while out. I'm gone 12 hours a day otherwise so i got about 4 hours to deal with my kefir. Once it starts to show a tiny bit of whey its done. You want to catch it right before that. If you refridgerate after you left it out first then the exact 15 minute window that its done perfectly at room temp will be extended by hours. The cooler temps slow the ferment down and right at the end is the best time to do that really. Its all about catching that sweet spot. THANKS FOR WATCHING

Youll see with this much kefir spiking the milk shaking it wont matter it will show within 15 minutes or less after mixing it. It will start to thicken quick

@@thekefircode7399Cool thanks. I'm new to making kefir and I was wondering generally what to look for to know that it's finished. Also, what do you do with the whey that you sometimes strain off? Have you ever tried adding fresh milk to a combination of grains and finished kefir, rather than to just the grains?

@@BlueGorillaInTheMist ill have a video aoon you can see the start of whey pockets. Then or right before if you learn your timing. I throw it out i have no use for it, none at all. Adding milk to kefir & grains. If i needed to extend the time before straining, it would help. Your reducing the ratio which will give you a little bit longer before you strain. But otherwise no, no need to do that. If you use a lot of grain its done its done. Now i like to add milk to my finished kefir in the summer & I take it to work and drink it later& at lunch. . Its really good.
