He is just a stupid person with a narrow mind that tries to find mainstream stuff. But even when he finds it, he avoids it and he is so stupid that he can't recognize it. He didn't even had the capacity to search for other vlogs made in this town before he went there. There isn't, at least one vlog, that considers Resita bad. But he thinks he is a God... I wonder how he learned the Romanian language. Probably in the Bucharest favelas while some gipsies beat him up to learn the language. I don't have another explanation. Seeing such a beautiful city that is acclaimed by everyone, but he is presenting it in such a dark manner. You should visit the city during summer, especially the surroundings are amazing. The nature around it is amazing: mountain lakes to be enjoyed during the summer time, hills with breathtaking nature, cave systems. It's nice to see interest in our little corner of the world, and to be honest I can resonate with the idea of being a dystopian future setting for a video game 🤣 however, in the city's defense, it looks better during summer, when everything comes to life. Precipitations bring the more depressing look of the city. I'm sad however that the people you've encountered were not talkative enough to help you, I guess this is just how most people from smaller cities react when encountering people they don't know. Next time you'll be around Romania you should check the surroundings of the city too, perhaps next time you visit there will be changes to the way the city looks, there are projects going on to improve things around, and if implemented, it will make a difference.

As someone born and raised in Resita, this was really interesting to watch. I also wonder if it was a Sunday or something, the streets are unexpectedly empty even for a city like Resita. As for the rest...what can I say? You're not really the only Asian in town, there a few others with some small businesses, just like some Indians or Arabs. However, the people in general do not really interact much with them and that young guy probably thought you were going to sell or offer him something, we get some Americans that try to talk to us about Mormonism from time to time. Having a camera on you makes it worse probably. As for the second group when you asked about Mociur...I think they knew what you meant, but pretended not to. Mociur is a dangerous part of the city where mostly gypsies live nowadays. The best part about Resita is visiting its surroundings, it has really beautiful nature around it. There are even some mini buses that go to some of them, but your best option is having someone to drive you or renting a car. If you're back in the area, feel free to hit me up and I could show you some more places from the area.

Thanks, it's great to get feedback from a local:) I don't remember if it was a Sunday🤔 but yeah the streets were quite empty. The city looks like our post industrial heart of Germany, Ruhrgebiet, at least the industrial complexes. It looks so familiar 😅 from a western Germany’s perspective. I think Rammstein and Kreator arose from these areas 😅 There are soo much old industrial areas you can go to. But we managed to make the shift to a modern community with high tech companies and universities over here, and sometimes these old industrial areas are open to the people to walk through, museums, parks, sometimes venues for events, bars, clubs. Some of them complexes have been dismounted and sent to china, to restart its works once again. These transports were crazy.

You walk on secondary streets, parallel with the main ones. You get into the most dangerous neighborhoods and you get scared of cats. It's obvious that your are doing an effort to present the town in a negative light. And then you complain about anything that get's this town out of anonymity... Like the Steam Engine museum, you say "I don't like to see train engines next to the streets", afterwards you go into the slums. You are lucky nobody stabbed you in the slums, honestly. I'm a resident but at 38 years old, I don't have the courage to go where you were, in my last 30-32 years 😅. Mociur is the favelas of Resita 🤣🤣🤣🤣. The town being an European city, with 10% what you showed. Aw you were so lucky... Your hotel is on the remains of the oldest streets of the town. That old building that you've seen right next to your hotel is one of the oldest buildings in town, my ex high school, built in about ~1780's. You are great, but don't be so critical... I'm sorry you had an unpleasant experience, you should have had some guidance, there are beautiful places and nice people in Resita but they are not so visible at first sight. You're not the only asian guy in town, in fact, you even passed by a store owned by a Chinese family and yes, that's an horrible music indeed:)) Now, i know what i'm going to say might bother some, and i know it sounds stereotypical but as a rule of thumb, not only in Resita but in the whole eastern part of Europe, the part that was behind the Iron Curtain, or at least in Romania, it's not a good bet to talk to people dressed in training clothes on the street. Also, if you see people dressed in glittering clothes with big logos of known fashion brands, it would be better to stay away. We call them, "cocalari," a mocking term, and they are the result of a faulty education system. Of course, not everyone who wears training clothes on the street is "cocalar" but the chances are quite high :)). This is the simplest and best advice I can give to an Asian tourist in Romania. Again, i'm not saying that all people who, although they don't jog, are dressed in training clothes or those dressed in glittering clothes are all retarded or something but are more likely to be mean or racist for no reason, due to their lack of education which is reflected in their tasteless clothing style. And one more thing, the Eiffel tower was not made in Resita, that's more likely a myth made up by the communists.
@keikeikeiland3 жыл бұрын
Next time I'll follow some locals' suggestions👍 And how would they treat an asian dressed like a cocalari? Would they treat me like one of them? ;p

Congratulation now you have seen how an communist industrial city looked back then in 80-90. it appears that nothing changed. Imagine allot more people and less cars and is the perfect picture from those times. About people... Since that is not a touristic area and you are a foreigner my best guess is that those people you tried to approach assumed that you are a missionary trying to "teach about Jesus" and that's the reason for being so cold...
