Keir Starmer's popularity has dropped by 26 points according to a popularity poll.
This comes after the Prime Minister defended receiving thousands of pounds worth of suits and glasses from Lord Alli, but he has now since U-turned on his position and said he will no longer accept free clothing.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves and deputy PM Angela Rayner, will also stop accepting clothing gifts, senior Labour figures said.
Starmer faced criticism after it was revealed Lord Alli had donated £16,435 worth of work clothing and glasses, along with £5,000 in clothes for the PM's wife, Victoria.
Starmer had previously stated the donations were within the rules and properly declared but avoided addressing why he didn’t buy his own clothes.

Two of those people cared for disabled partners and that is what upsets me! It didn’t seem to matter about their responsibilities, and that is terrible! I didn’t vote Labour, I haven’t since Brexit, it has gone far too much leftist, and it no longer stands for the common man (or woman) instead, it just acts as a club for the rich to boost their income! Mind you, we seem to have many younger people who have no appreciation at all of how much they owe to older generations and see no significance in what Labour has done. It seems Reform are at last setting up local associations - we've now got one in our area formed since the GE - which has its inaugural meeting next weekend. That's a huge step forward and it's just a pity they weren't able to do that before. It all takes time and money, of course. Now with a good sized membership and forming into a more democratically run organisation, let's hope more and more are attracted to it and are prepared to work for it.
