NATO is a regional alliance, not a whitelist stripclub, anyone they wish to talk with can be present, especially when those are allies of NATO. We (the UK) haven't destroyed our military for Ukraine (nor have we destroyed theirs, Russia is in the process of attempting that though), we just haven't funded the military because our politicians want to soak up the funds as much as possible. Ukraine has given our old rusting equipment a purpose, meaning we don't need to spend stupid money to secure, maintain or dispose of them, and with our new equipment which they are essentially testing for us we have strengthened military ties with them against one of our strongest potential enemies, all for a much lower cost. The "cost" that the media and anti war nerds keep bringing up is pretty much just the cost of the equipment from when it was made, not how much it is actually worth now and no where near the amount it actually costs to ship to Ukraine. Thanks to this war, we have seen how effective our current strategies are for all out war, which aren't good, so we are now getting a good opportunity to learn what is and isn't effective, how future wars might shape out, the importance of drones, mechanized infantry, anti air/drone defences and artillery. You are right about our tax money though, thanks to the 2 tory parties we have been wasting and losing our money for a very long time, before this war "started" a few years back, before Russia first started their invasions over a decade ago... This war has next to nothing to do with the state of our military and economy. Now, Russian bot, child, illegal, or incompetent being, it doesn't matter which you are, just shut up. At least learn to speak like us Brits before you complain about our tax money and our alliances.

@jaydenmasters28883 ай бұрын
And where is the money coming from to pay for all these new jobs? Higher taxes? Think about it.
@mykeh31553 ай бұрын
@@jaydenmasters2888 Our economy is currently failing, has been for a while before the current global conflicts started. Failing doesn't mean shrinking or reducing in value, it just means slowing down. When an economy slows too much, it dies, nothing can fix it without restarting. When an economy is failing, people aren't able to make as much money as they need to freely spend, they can only buy necessities, this means less money is moving around, meaning less money made from taxes. Less money moving around means businesses start failing, they need government support otherwise they will increase prices and/or do mass layoffs, both make it so that less people spend money and cost the government money, meaning even less money from taxes. Taxes must be raised so that new jobs can be funded, businesses can receive grants and such to keep operating, giving people with less money the ability to still purchase necessities instead of said necessities raising in price to keep the businesses alive. Policy changes are made to allow businesses to make more money, price caps keep important goods and services affordable, an effort is made to keep employment as high as possible, tax brackets might be shifted to get people to spend more. As businesses are able to keep paying their employees whilst keeping prices low, money starts moving again, more tax money is generated, meaning more jobs can be made, more grants given out, more policy changes can be funded. When more people start spending money again, taxes can be reduced, less grants are needed, the government can slow down or stop making new jobs as the job market begins to become more self sufficient. The only way for taxes to not go up when creating new jobs is to have private business create the jobs, without grants, which means we need to have good policies and trade that enables large corporations to take the wheel. We have unfortunately been killing off our businesses the last few decades thanks to both of the Tory parties making terrible policies like net 0 which do nothing besides offload our work and emissions onto some other country, this comes directly with increased taxes to make up for the loss of trade and people with purchasing power. If we don't create new jobs, taxes will need to go up even more so that we can play catchup, the cycle might stop if we do nothing, but the amount of money we have will continue to go down along with the amount of tax money generated, which in turn means fewer and fewer jobs until eventually the economy completely collapses.
