But as time marched on and altruism collapsed our political democracy emerged. I’m afraid that the mechanics of our system are broken. Perhaps we need something that’s truly representative such as the constancy of Referendums in Switzerland giving some credence to actually asking the public rather than arrogantly deeming that they represent them, when all our politicians represent is their next constituency majority. Somehow we need to remove some political power to return a semblance of government actually representing the entire population.
