As long as he at least cuts the red tape on construction to get investment flowing again, he will be at least decent. If he just does the same shit the Tories did, but in Red, which is exactly what he's going to do, then I have good news for you because you are 100% winning the next election. To be clear, I oppose Reform, the simplistic prattle about immigration is revolting (Immigrants didn't vote your country out of the biggest trading bloc, they didn't steal your Covid funds and they didn't drive wealth inequality through the roof). The UK desperately needs economic left along with moderate social right and no party is offering that. Everyone's just pointing fingers like kids at a playground. This is a complicated mess and no simplistic moaning about brown people is going to fix that.

Yes, the US can learn a lot politically from the UK and Australia. We both have the same Major political parties: Liberal and Labour where the transfer of power is unhindered by gun toting maniacs attempting to seize illegitimately. We here in Australia run our elections a little different than the UK, we here in Australia have BBQs at our polling places making election day as a fun day with the seriousness of voting. We here in Australia have compulsory voting so having BBQs at polling places makes sense, and takes the serious edge off the day. Make no mistake, Starmer is the worst of the tories but with authoritarianism, censorship, warmongering, globalist agenda enforcing tyranny. @@ajs41 In Australian Elections, the winner takes office as soon as they visit the Governor General. This generally takes place within a few days, at the latest it could take a week no more than that. The Governor General is the King's representative in Australia. In the UK its slightly different as the new government there only has to seek an audience with the King as Buckingham Palace and Number 10 are quite close by. Australia however, has compulsory voting whereas the UK its an optional voting system. Note to the Wise: Be aware of Nigel Farage. He will be a danger to the UK as Trump will be for the USA. except the far right (reform) got quite a large vote by historic standards - but they split the right vote and the conservatives also lost votes to the middle (liberal democrats) and the stay at homers; England and south wales is still majority right of centre but disillusioned with conservatives and confused about why Brexit hasn't improved their lot, as the Russian-financed bankers promised it would - confused obviously because a significant amount still voted for the snake-oil salesman Farage

@@nitrohexane1160 ah, so you've now widened the goal post. UK interests are self defined, not for you to decide, so called "abstract concepts" are highly important and are often what separates us from countries such as Afghanistan. A less "abstract" interest would be the fostering of foreign relationships within NATO and the commonwealth, as well as the work the UK does when it comes to strategic advice, economic assistance, humanitarian aid etc. These are all important even when it comes to our flat economy. A more physical interest could be the UKs commitment to the Falkland islands or Gibraltar, it could also be the UKs commitment towards cooking the world's finest, most delicious and complex food; such as beans on toast.
