@PCVP47295 ай бұрын
It's not "the west" that are spoiled, it's the middle class and upper classes of every country on Earth. People in Thailand who are working as managers earning 6 figures a year don't bring attention to these communities either.

I spent sometime in Thailand in the 80's . As I recall, the minimum wage was approx 100 baht per day or 3,000 per month. I've watched lots of Thai youtube channels , perhaps hoping to re-live the experiences from that time. For some reason , today, the algorithims suggested this one and I must say it's the best I've seen. Congratulations - you've created a very interesting programme to watch Thank you!

This was a great watch, Adam. Can you imagine how it would be if you visited and walked though a deprived and poor community in the western world, you'd likely be intimidated, robbed and sworn at, but in such a community in Thailand, you are welcomed, the locals are genuinely interested in you and respect you.

I am absolutely amazed by the lack of theft among the local Thais, you can leave expensive stuff on a table and walk away for 10min, doesn’t matter how poor they are they typically do not steal. In Los Angeles it’s almost the opposite where everyone will steal from you rich or poor with the poor believing you owe them and the rich feeling they need it more than you. I do think Thais have something more and generally live happier with what they have than us in the west.

Real community, old trucks and cars and small houses but never felt more kindness and true compassion, but to someone from St. Louis living rich in material things they would think central Missouri was poor...
