Today for me marks exactly 3 years since I made the move to Thailand!
It has been a wild adventure, as someone who moved out here with next to nothing. Today, I wanted to show what life was like for me living on very little money as a digital Nomad in Bangkok. I show my first apartment I moved into and share stories of my move here. I also show what it is like to live here on a very small budget, I was living in Thailand on under $1000 per month.

Congratulations on 3 years. I've been watching for about a year and have really enjoyed your channel. You are a smart, creative, well spoken young man and I'm sure you'll see continued success. Your films show how hard you work and how much you are enjoying your life. I visited Thailand a couple of times over forty years ago and loved it. Keep living the dream!

I moved to Thailand with my wife pregnant and 14 thousand Australia dollars in my pocket. So I remember the days when I was budgeting for a family of three. They were the best days and like your video showed plenty to do and plenty of good cheap food. My income went up substantially and I decided to move to Pattaya. I spent 4 years down there drinking like a fish and decided to move back to Australia before I was sent back in a pine box. Definitely a better lifestyle in Bangkok and if I had not gone to Pattaya I would probably still be in Thailand. Your mate will find it a lot harder in Pattaya then Bangkok.

I’ve been following you since the beginning and love seeing your growth and all your work paying off. And you seemed to have chosen the best time to start a KZbin channel when everyone around the world was locked down watching KZbin and wishing for better days. Keep living your dream brother. I hope to move there in ten years or so when we leave Japan ❤️🙏

I retired here full-time from the US on March 11. Jomtien. I crossed paths with you on Soi 7, Jomtien during Songkran as you enjoyed yourself overlooking the street at Emily's Bar & Restaurant. Spoke very briefly. I've really enjoyed your channel and have learned a great deal. This is my week to encounter youtubers I think. Was having an ice cream near the beach and crossed paths with another vlogger. It's fun spotting you guys out here. Where are you Lucas?? 🤔

That restaurant by the Klong is one of our faves. We went there last week when we stayed at Bang Kapi while checking out where my wife's family used to live. Staying for 5 months this year, driving around the country. Staying on the coast near Rayong for a week or so at the moment before maybe heading over to Koh Chang. Our 5 month holiday usually costs us about AUD $12,000, driving around in our own car which we leave here when back on the gold coast.

amazing too see how you started one thing for me that I see is even on a tight budget like you had you still had a amazing time! rent was paid and it was a nice condo, you ate out all 3 meals of the day and it was good food and even had some left if you wanted to have some fun on the weekend! you hear more and more from the west stories of how people right now like me are paying 90% or more on just there rent and food, not even having enough money left to enjoy life its so nice to see that there's parts of the world out there that you can live on a budget and have a amazing time! also side note any updates on just Dan? I know he had a issue with his KZbin channel any world on if he's planning to come back to KZbin??

0,15 Euro cents for a bottle of water at a major chain convenience store is actually all you need to know about budgeting for Thailand: you can make it work, but anyone should have some kind of travel insurence, always have enough savings to get back home and never overstay your welcome (visa).

I'm from Australia as well, is there any forms/documents/tax stuff you need to do or fill out and send to the Australian government if your going to live overseas for more than 6 months or a year? Or do you avoid those things by making sure you visit Australia at least once every 6 months, that way they see it as just a holiday?

Very doable if you don't eat western and lets be honest - why not embrace the food. Your discipline is very commendable!

When doing this budget, did you tip? Or account for tipping? Coming from America, I would not feel right, not tipping something for the staff. Wondering if that would add in a few baht more a day?
@keisone
@keisone 2 ай бұрын
Nah, tipping is not a thing here for general restaurants.. if you go to a place and someone is topping up your drinks and personally looking after them a small tip is ok, a large tip is seen as rude and condescending.. But these places I ate breakfast and lunch, locals dont tip.. I did however tip my grab rider 20 baht because it was raining and I feel bad for them riding in the rain to deliver food..

Do you ever think about living in Korea again ? Should make a video talking about what it was like and why you decided to leave Korea.
