It is so inspiring what these two guys do with old, damaged homes. Rejuvenating a house is such a good thing!

I was just sitting down to write about that headboard, and scrolling to see if anyone else was bothered by it, too. These guys do a fantastic job. Why would you not align the the fabric with the edges of the headboard? But guys, you are doing such a great job. Thank you for preserving these great old homes.
@cheriekreusel37563 ай бұрын
So, the headboard........the material was crooked and kind of messed up the look. It looked like a looser weave material. The problem with the looser material is that it will stretch uneven. Next time, in order to stop that from happening, try to iron on a stabilizer on the back of the material. It will keep it from stretching out when you go to staple it on the wood. I love how you got rid of the hallway. They just seem like a waste of space, especially in some of the older homes.

I’m with you on the headboard fabric. I think this is the only time I’ve ever seen an oops in construction on this show. All of the renovations are fascinating. To take a house damaged by fire and be able to bring it back to such an inviting state is quite a gift

Is the cross-check pattern on the headboard supposed to be wavy? Looks weird and detracts from how good the rest of the house looks. Maybe try a solid fabric next time if you can't get your lines straight.

Next time you make a headboard why not use a solid color fabric or one with an irregular pattern. The wavy lines in your finished product look weird.

I love this duo, so talented and so much good ideas but, a stove under a window that you cannot open, no fan, with all the smells of cooking is a very bad decision. And that headboard 😳

@@melindaostergren8115 They make frosted sheets that sticks to regular clear glass at Home Depot which I'm surprised they don't utilize since it probably costs less than a pack of window blinds.

The layout is ok but design not so much. The fabric headboard is way off alignment. I don't like butcher block. For me it's an inexpensive go to. The bathroom window should have been changed to a horizontal above and the rest tiled. I do understand it's about the money. $$✨️

Uff da, which one was in charge of lining up the checks???

I was not happy to see the "pantry" with 2 small shelves, period. A pantry is not a display cabinet, it's serious storage for shelf-safe foods for a family and often pets. There should be floor to ceiling shelving on 3 sides, and options for spice jars and space for bins for dry animal food/birdseed. My little circa1860's pantry is no bigger than this, but is constructed with loads of shelves, and they are all full. I can be snowed in and eat for weeks off what's stocked on those shelves.

I always wondered. Why do all these reveals have the books place backwards?
@melindaostergren81152 ай бұрын
Because of copyright laws. To show identifiable books in such shows is seen as using materials without permission to help sell the product the show is about.

Gorge. What would you call this design style- traditional modern?
@BUDSBEAU3 ай бұрын
remind me if anyone knows please. do i remember them saying at some point in their t v series when it first started that the decor goes with the house or not ? i know Keith designs a lot of things JUST for the house they are working on, so i am sure that stays. just curious. for some reason i seem to remember the decor staying with the house. either way, i dont think they charge enough for these houses when they sell them. i know they are doing it to help the community and are NOT doing it to get rich, obviously. but i am sure they could get more money for there houses. JOB WELL DONE, AS ALWAYS !!!!
@colleencrowe90313 ай бұрын
You can only charge what the market will pay. In this community it's low. But the reward for the new buyers is high. They make money off the show as well, so all's good.
@rbk28553 ай бұрын
They said that several times in the 1st season, but I don’t recall them saying it in season 2 or 3. I have wondered about that myself concerning season 2 and 3.
@melindaostergren81152 ай бұрын
My impression has always been that the furnishings are part of the asking price. They do have bespoke projects in each house, especially Keith’s wall art. Like so many things it seems likely that the furnishings are negotiable.
