This has probably already been said by the millions of other baristas, but the bits Keith is talking about in the holiday flavors are the toppings. Anything peppermint gets chocolate curls on top, and the toasted white mocha gets a holiday sprinkle(which is red sprinkles and some weird white bead thing), and the chestnut praline has it's own special topping. Also, regarding the teas, we're trained just to get drinks out really quickly, so the teas only brew as long as you leave them in, as we just stick the tea bags in and pour hot water in and hand them out. I got excited to watch this, but I fear for your heart with all that caffeine.

As someone who works at Starbucks, wait until next summer! Why? Because we are out of a lot of stuff due to manufacturing discontinuation! Very berry hibiscus is gone, most of our syrups and honey blends are gone, and green tea is on and off. It's kind of difficult, since customers blame employees and not the company itself! Don't blame us, we can't do anything, and I miss the peach green tea too. fun fact!!! the reason the espresso at starbucks usually tastes burnt, is because shots "die" if you let them sit too long without mixing them into the drink, and because starbucks is fast food and everyone is under pressure to be making as many drinks as they can at once or get yelled at for high drive thru times, a lot of times shots will sit while the barista is working on another drink, and it only takes like ten seconds for a shot to die and taste burnt.
@katrinarosival98154 жыл бұрын
Yup! Your right it's 30 seconds after the shot is poured and with such a big order I'm sure some drinks got flat/dead shots and it made it bitter and burnt.
@AlgaeEater094 жыл бұрын

From another former barista, I took some coffee notes for ya! - If you think the espresso tastes burnt, I recommend asking for the blonde espresso! It isn't roasted as long, so it has a much lighter taste. Also if they're busy and they leave the shots sitting too long, that will also cause them to taste more burnt (easy mistake if you're jumping to different stations and multitasking) - If the cappuccino tasted burnt, they might've burnt the milk by aerating it for too long! It's pretty easy to accidentally do - If the oatmilk had flavor, they might use a vanilla one? I've never worked in a store with it, but the soy they use is definitely a vanilla one - The peppermint mocha/salted caramel mocha have double the pumps of syrup (full pumps of each)! So if you like more of a coffee taste, ask for half the pumps :) - At Starbucks, the chai latte is actually made from a sweetened concentrate! You can request to have it made with the tea bags instead though! - The creme drinks are basically hot chocolate, but you sub different flavors for the chocolate syrup (at least that's how I think of them) Oh, and a macchiato is just espresso with milk foam scooped on top! The caramel one is a whole different drink, which can be confusing Hope these help :)
